Job description

You will be the Prototype Machinist / NC Programmer for the Engineering & Prototype Laboratory (EPL) team. Our team provides engineering and fabrication support for researchanddevelopment initiatives within Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control.


What You Will Be Doing


As a Prototype Machinist / NC Programmer you will be responsible for interpreting drawings and 3D models, developing fabrication processes, and generating NC code in a "Build to Print" environment.


Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:



  • Plan, tool, and set up multiaxis mills, lathes, and millturn machines (including 5axis contouring) for complex prototype hardware.

  • Create and verify NC programs using CAD/CAM software to meet exacting tolerances.

  • Fabricate fixtures, workholding solutions, and custom tooling to support unique part geometries.

  • Measure and inspect machined components, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications.

  • Prepare hardware for test or field deployment, exercising independent judgment on execution methods.
