To thrive as a Protocol Specialist, you need expertise in diplomatic procedures, event planning, and cross-cultural communication, often supported by a relevant bachelor's degree or international relations experience. Familiarity with tools like event management software, scheduling platforms, and knowledge of international protocol standards is typical. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and discretion are vital soft skills to build trust and ensure smooth interactions. These abilities are crucial for facilitating formal events, maintaining professional relationships, and avoiding misunderstandings in multicultural or governmental environments.
