Your Mission

As a Cross-Trained Advanced Care Paramedic/Firefighter, you are a vital part of the emergency response team, delivering advanced medical care and fire rescue services in high-pressure situations. This role combines clinical expertise with operational readiness-ensuring equipment and vehicles are prepared 24/7, participating in drills and inspections, and responding to emergencies with precision and professionalism. You'll maintain compliance with provincial standards and company protocols, assist with training and documentation, and represent International SOS and the client with integrity. With a focus on safety, teamwork, and continuous skill development, you'll be ready to act when every second counts.

How You'll Contribute

As a Cross-Trained Advanced Care Paramedic/Firefighter you'll combine medical expertise with fire rescue skills to protect lives and property:

  • Be a critical part of emergency response-providing advanced medical care and fire rescue services when every second matters.
  • Maintain the highest standards of practice in line with provincial regulations and International SOS policies.
  • Deliver professional, compassionate care to patients in challenging environments.
  • Keep emergency equipment and vehicles ready 24/7 for rapid deployment.
  • Participate in emergency calls, drills, inspections, and site safety meetings to ensure operational excellence.
  • Stay sharp through ongoing continuing medical education and required skills testing.
  • Operate confidently within your provincial licenses while supporting team success.
  • Assist with internal training programs by preparing and leading sessions that strengthen team capability.
  • Complete accurate reports and documentation to support compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Represent International SOS and the client with professionalism in all interactions.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned, contributing to a culture of safety and readiness.

Must-haves (minimum requirements):
ย ย  ย Work experience as an Advanced Care Paramedic/Firefighter
ย ย  ย Fire Certifications(not limited to):

  • NFPA 1001 Level 1 and 2
  • NFPA 1002 Level 1 and 2
  • NFPA 1006 Rope Rescue Or Equivalent to NFPA
  • NFPA 1006 Confined Space Or Equivalent to NFPA
  • NFPA 472 Hazmat

ย ย  ย Current registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics
ย ย  ย A valid driver's license and a clean driving record
