Job Description

5G IODT Test Engineer

Summary:
The main function of a Network QA Engineer is to develop product and feature validation on 4G/5G air interface and call processing technology. The engineer will handle systems and performance testing.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement systems and performance testing across 4G and 5G telecommunications technologies.

  • Analyze product and feature requirements, convert them into system test cases, and execute testing to ensure products meet customer specifications.

  • Perform detailed analysis of 4G wireless protocols.

  • Provide in-depth technical log analysis and verify network configurations.

  • Investigate performance-related issues.

  • Drive technical solutions for customers through complex organizational dynamics.

  • Execute IODT testing in lab environments and prepare reports and customer presentations.

  • Analyze product requirements and develop corresponding test cases.

  • Support product and feature performance evaluations for new software releases.

  • Analyze and troubleshoot 4G/5G wireless protocol logs.

  • Educate customers on new products and services.

  • Coordinate with support organizations, logistics teams, and cross-functional teams to ensure successful product rollouts and developments.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Strong understanding of PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC, and PDCP layers.

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science required.

  • 8–10 years of directly related experience required; Master's degree with 6+ years preferred.

  • Experience with ongoing 3GPP Release activities is a plus.

  • Experience in feature validation, performance analysis, test planning, and troubleshooting.

  • Strong knowledge of 4G/5G air interface, call processing, and Radio Access Networks.

  • Experience with lab testing and IODT testing preferred.

  • Knowledge of IoT technologies, including eMTC, NB-IoT, S1, and X2 interfaces.

  • Experience with EMS systems, network element management, software upgrades, and MOP verification.

  • Software development experience is beneficial.

  • Understanding of 3GPP Core and RAN networks.

  • Understanding of both hardware and software architecture.

  • Experience with protocol analyzers, XCAL/QXDM, Wireshark, Channel Emulators, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, and similar tools.

  • Ability to travel occasionally during project assignments.
