Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

In this laboratory-based role, the successful candidate will support efforts to generate novel antibody-based therapeutics. Ideally, the applicant has knowledge in immunology and antibody discovery. They should have experience in molecular biology techniques and knowledge of antibody structure, function, and basic characterization assays. Additional job requirements:

  • Supporting antibody discovery projects by conducting antibody sequencing/cloning from single B-cell and hybridoma samples

  • Independently design, analyze and interpret experiments for the discovery and characterization of isolated antibodies and alternate binder formats

  • Build, sequence, and analyze antibody repertoire NGS libraries

  • Present scientific results in multiple settings and attend project team meetings

  • Maintain familiarity with relevant scientific literature

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S in biological sciences, with 2 years of relevant professional experience

or

  • M.S. in biological sciences, 0+ years of relevant professional experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. in biological sciences, minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience

or

  • M.S. in biological sciences, minimum 1 year of experience and a proven track record in molecular biology and antibody discovery.

An ideal candidate will have experience in most of the following areas:

  • Strong expertise in molecular biology is required. Experience in antibody sequencing, cloning and recombinant expression is highly desired.

  • Experience in antibody screening and characterization using biochemical assays and quantitative analysis of protein-protein binding interactions (e.g. ELISA, FACS, BLI)

  • Experience in single-cell FACS sorting is highly desired. Working knowledge in other single-cell technologies a plus.

  • Mammalian cell culture experience is a plus

  • Highly organized and capable of tracking multiple complex workflows

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with an ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative, and evolving environment


The salary range for this position is: $94,945.00 - $122,870.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
