Department: Retail
Direct Supervisor: Senior Director, Business Operations
Status: Full-time
Summary:
The Director, Stadium Retail position is responsible for the development and execution of retail strategy across all in-stadium operations for the Miami Dolphins, Hard Rock Stadium, the Miami Open, and the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix. This role will lead a dynamic, high-volume, multi-event retail business with a major focus on elevating and evolving the retail experience. This role requires an innovative, energetic, and forward-thinking leader who can build differentiated, premium retail strategies across diverse global events.
Location:
  • This is a full-time position based on site at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and executes retail strategy, monitor retail performance, and lead in stadium retail operations.
  • Oversee merchandise purchasing, warehouse operations, and store management for Miami Dolphins, Miami Open tennis, and Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix events.
  • Identify new collaborations, trends, and innovations that can be incorporated into product and retail strategy.
  • Monitor product sales, inventory turns, markdowns to maximize sales and profitability of the team.
  • Maintain positive business partnerships with NFL licensing department and merchandise vendors.
  • Curate annual Miami Open retail assortment, including product selection, collaborations, and merchandising.
  • Manage main store and pop-up retail locations for the Miami Open and Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, collaborating with the events team on the development of store layouts and build-out plans.
  • Manage and master the Point-of-Sale system used for merchandise.
  • Develop processes and reports for all merchandise and retail functions – i.e., inventory management, loss prevention, purchasing, and event reporting.
  • Work cross-functionally with all organizational teams to achieve team goals.
  • Make recommendations on the purchases of new systems and major capital expenditures for retail operations.
Qualifications:
  • 7-10 years of experience in a mix of retail and merchandising operations
  • Previous retail store management a must; brand and/or marketing experience preferred
  • The ability to work weekends, and holidays as necessary
  • Experience in sports or licensing related businesses a plus
  • Track record of growing sales and margins in a retail environment
  • Positive and effective customer service skills
