The GSR Data Analytics Team within GSR is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to join our team. This is an opportunity to work on a team that develops data solutions to empower GSR recruiting teams to discover, engage, and cultivate top-tier Specialty/Executive talent at Amazon.
The BIE will build new business intelligence solutions end-to-end for our global team. The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical acumen and be comfortable drawing metric-based conclusions by managing an extensive amount of data. The successful candidate possesses superb business judgment, high degree of customer-obsession, with a track record for delivering results, team collaboration and strong analytical acumen.
Our ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, relishes working with large transactional volumes and big data, enjoys the challenge of highly complex business contexts (that are typically being defined in real-time), and, above all, is a passionate about data and analytics.
Key job responsibilities
• Design, develop and maintain scalable, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, dashboards that will support our analytical and business needs
• Write high quality SQL queries to retrieve and analyze data from database tables (ex. Redshift, MySQL, Oracle)
• Partner with business owners, tech and central teams to integrate machine-learning and automation into scaling our programs and processes
• Work on the cutting edge of GenAI/ML for proactive and predictive analytics to de-risk global recruiting and talent decisions
• Create forecasting models for workforce planning and organizational health data
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of processing large, multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources experience
- 6+ years of developing automated reporting experience
- 6+ years of using SQL, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), or Oracle experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field
- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
- 6+ years of as a Data Engineer, Business Intelligence Engineer or a related occupation experience
- 6+ years of using SQL, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), Data Warehouse experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
