Job Summary
Join Baylor Scott & White Irving Foundation in advancing healthcare through philanthropy. The Senior Development Officer - Annual Giving & Donor Engagement leads strategic fundraising initiatives that inspire donor generosity, strengthen community partnerships, and build a sustainable pipeline of future major gift supporters. This highly collaborative role oversees annual giving, planned giving, grateful patient fundraising, donor stewardship, and select grant-writing initiatives while partnering with Foundation leadership and system-wide development teams to grow philanthropic support across the region. is responsible for leading the Baylor Scott & White Irving Foundation's annual giving, planned giving, grateful giving, and select grant writing initiatives. Reporting to the Foundation President/Vice President, this role partners closely with local Foundation leadership and system-wide fundraising teams to develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies that increase donor engagement, expand philanthropic support, and strengthen the Foundation's pipeline of future major gift donors.
This position oversees the planning, execution, and evaluation of annual fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, digital appeals, leadership giving, and grateful patient initiatives. The Senior Officer will cultivate and steward donors giving between $1,000 and $10,000, identify opportunities to advance donors into major gift portfolios, and create meaningful donor experiences that inspire long-term engagement and philanthropy. This is an onsite position.
Essential Functions
  • Lead the day-to-day strategy, planning, and execution of the Baylor Scott & White Irving Foundation's annual giving program.
  • Develop innovative donor acquisition, retention, and stewardship strategies that increase philanthropic support and donor engagement.
  • Manage and expand the Clinton Howard Society, the Foundation's planned giving program, by cultivating current members, identifying new planned giving prospects, and enhancing the overall donor experience.
  • Assess annual giving donors and develop both short- and long-term engagement strategies that identify and cultivate future major gift prospects.
  • Partner with the Grateful Giving team to identify, cultivate, and solicit grateful patient donors with giving potential between $1,000 and $10,000.
  • Manage and actively cultivate a portfolio of annual giving donors and prospects through personalized outreach, stewardship, and solicitation strategies.
  • Lead the development and execution of year-end campaigns, direct mail appeals, email fundraising campaigns, and donor acquisition initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Foundation leadership, development officers, marketing, and prospect research teams to maximize fundraising effectiveness and identify new donor opportunities.
  • Analyze fundraising campaign performance, donor engagement trends, and appeal effectiveness to continuously improve fundraising outcomes.
  • Develop, monitor, and report key fundraising metrics, campaign performance, donor pipeline activity, and progress toward annual fundraising goals.
  • Manage the annual giving budget and campaign-specific budgets while ensuring responsible stewardship of Foundation resources.
  • Support Foundation fundraising priorities through the development of grant proposals and related funding opportunities as assigned.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience leading annual giving, donor engagement, or philanthropic fundraising programs.
  • Experience managing fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship initiatives, and strategic fundraising plans.
  • Experience cultivating and soliciting individual donors, particularly gifts ranging from $1,000 to $10,000.
  • Experience with planned giving, grateful patient fundraising, or healthcare philanthropy is preferred.
  • Grant writing experience is preferred.
  • Experience using donor relationship management systems such as Blackbaud Raiser's Edge or similar fundraising CRM platforms preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • EDUCATION - Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
  • EXPERIENCE - 5 Years of Experience
