Job description

We are seeking a Propulsion Design and Integration Engineer to own the systems architecture, mass properties, packaging, requirements flow down, and coordination across propulsion, structures, aerodynamics, and controls. You will ensure the whole vehicle meets performance targets and integrates all subsystems into a coherent, testable design.

Key Responsibilities:โ€‹

  • Lead vehicle level design and integration of propulsion, controls, aerodynamics, structures, and avionicsโ€‹
  • Develop and maintain architecture models, mass properties, center of gravity/stability marginsโ€‹
  • Perform trade studies and requirements allocations for performance, weight, and spaceโ€‹
  • Create system level 3D CAD assemblies for integration reviewsโ€‹
  • Coordinate with Component leads (propulsion, materials, CFD, test) to manage interfacesโ€‹
  • Establish systems engineering artifacts (requirements, verification matrix,ICDs)
  • Support simulation activities with input to GNC and CFD teamsโ€‹
  • Participate in design reviews, hazard analyses, and test readiness reviewsโ€‹

Requirements

  • B.S./M.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Systems Engineeringโ€‹
  • 5โ€“12+ years experience in aerospace vehicle design or systems integrationโ€‹
  • Experience with multi-discipline design of propulsion systems, missile or launch vehiclesโ€‹
  • Strong systems thinking with demonstrable integration deliverables(ICDs, PODs, integration plans)โ€‹
  • Proficiency in CAD (CREO, NX, CATIA) and systems engineering toolsโ€‹

Preferred Qualifications:โ€‹

  • Experience with integrated air-breathing/rocket systems, hypersonic vehicles, or tactical missilesโ€‹
  • Familiarity with model based systems engineering (MBSE)processesโ€‹
  • Experience in lead design of complex aerospace vehicles across multiple disciplinesโ€‹
