Proptech Marketing information

What is Proptech Marketing?

Proptech marketing refers to the strategies and activities used to promote property technology (proptech) products and services, which are designed to innovate and improve the real estate industry through technology. This includes marketing software platforms, digital tools, and tech-enabled services that help with buying, selling, managing, or investing in real estate. Proptech marketers use digital campaigns, content marketing, social media, and industry events to reach real estate professionals, property managers, investors, and tenants. The goal is to increase brand awareness, generate leads, and drive adoption of new technologies within the real estate sector.

How does a Proptech Marketing professional typically collaborate with sales and product teams to ensure successful campaigns?

Proptech Marketing professionals work closely with both sales and product teams to align marketing strategies with the company's goals and customer needs. They often attend regular meetings with the product team to understand new features or updates and develop messaging that highlights these innovations. Collaboration with the sales team is crucial for gathering feedback from the field, refining target audiences, and creating materials that directly support sales efforts. This cross-functional teamwork ensures that marketing campaigns are both technically accurate and tailored to resonate with prospective clients in the real estate technology sector.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in Proptech Marketing, and why are they important?

To excel in Proptech Marketing, strong skills in digital marketing, real estate knowledge, and data analysis are essential, often supported by a degree in marketing or business. Familiarity with CRM software, marketing automation tools, and property listing platforms is typically required. Creativity, adaptability, and excellent communication skills help professionals stand out in engaging target audiences and building partnerships. These competencies drive effective campaigns and foster growth in the rapidly evolving Proptech sector.

Job description

What You'll Do:

The National Corporate Marketing Director leads the marketing function for a centralized home building organization, setting the strategic direction for how the Company markets its brand, communities, and homes to prospective buyers across all divisions. This role manages a team that partners closely with division leadership, creative resources, and cross-functional stakeholders to build best-in-class marketing strategies that generate qualified traffic and drive home sales.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and lead execution of the national marketing strategy and annual marketing plan, aligning corporate objectives with division-level sales goals, community openings, and inventory needs, as well as working with division teams to align marketing campaigns with community launches, inventory homes, promotions, and seasonal sales initiatives.
  • Track and monitor marketing KPIs, including traffic, lead volume, cost per lead/sale, conversion rate, and brand awareness to help craft division strategy.
  • Be the subject matter expert on our buyer segments and messaging.
  • Serve as the primary marketing liaison to division presidents and division marketing/sales leadership, translating local needs into corporate-supported programs that help divisions hit absorption and sales pace targets.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a team of marketing managers and specialists, building a high-performing function that operates as a trusted internal partner to the divisions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, design studio, IT, and executive leadership on go-to-market plans for new communities, product lines, and corporate initiatives.
  • Partner with the internal creative resources and digital marketing on brand campaigns, community collateral, model home merchandising, photography/video, digital assets, localized content, social media, paid media, and website optimization.
  • Monitor competitor activity, buyer trends, and market conditions across divisions to continually refine strategy and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Evaluate and implement new marketing technologies and platforms, including PropTech and AI-enabled tools, to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the marketing function.
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

What You Have:

  • Strong strategic and analytical mindset, with the ability to connect national brand strategy to local sales outcomes and translate data into action.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor a team, including staff supporting multiple divisions or markets.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence division and executive stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Experience directing creative processes and managing internal creative staff and/or external agencies.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and competing deadlines across divisions.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Your Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive marketing experience, including at least 5 years in a marketing leadership role managing teams and multi-market or multi-unit strategy.
  • Minimum of a four-year degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field required; MBA a plus.
  • Homebuilding, residential real estate, multi-site retail, or franchise/multi-unit industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong background in digital marketing, CRM and marketing automation platforms, website management, and paid media/performance marketing.
  • Proven budget management and vendor negotiation experience.
  • Ability to travel to division offices and communities as needed.
