Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Proposal Writer to join our team! As our proposal Writer, you will be finding upcoming opportunities that align with our mission and organization, working closely with members of our organization to craft engaging proposals and letters of intent, and applying for grants and funding opportunities on behalf of our organization. You will also be maintaining a living calendar of grant opportunities, following up on applications, and working with the accounting and financial departments to ensure that the appropriate funding is acquired. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, has previous experience working with nonprofits or as a grant writer, and will have exceptional writing and storytelling skills. 
Responsibilities 
  • Research and identify potential corporate or foundation funders that align with our mission and values
  • Manage a comprehensive calendar of deadlines for proposals, letters of intent, and follow-up reports
  • Work closely with other staff and departments to gather information required to identify fundraising needs, craft appropriate proposals, and determine funding outcomes
  • Create compelling, engaging proposals that fit within grant guidelines and align with our mission to tell our story
  • Follow up with letters of intent and proposals, and maintain open line communication between potential grant givers and our organization
