About the Team
The Tariff Recovery Intern supports the end-to-end tariff recovery process by assisting in the analysis, administration, and execution of customer tariff recovery initiatives. This role provides exposure to government trade and tariff regulations and their impact on business operations, while developing an understanding of how tariff costs are assessed, communicated, and recovered from customers. Working closely with ZF's customer-facing Sales and Account Management teams, as well as internal stakeholders across Finance, Pricing, Product Line Management, Supply Chain, and Customer Service, the intern will help collect and analyze data, prepare customer communications and recovery documentation, track recovery activities, and support the implementation of tariff recovery strategies. The position offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in commercial operations, financial analysis, customer engagement, and cross-functional business collaboration within a global manufacturing environment.
What you can look forward to as a Tariff Recovery Intern:
  • Support tariff recovery initiatives by collecting, organizing, and validating customer and pricing data.
  • Assist Sales Representatives and Account Managers in preparing tariff recovery proposals, customer notifications, and supporting documentation.
  • Track tariff-related customer requests, claims, and recovery opportunities using internal systems and reporting tools.
  • Maintain accurate records of tariff recovery activities, customer approvals, and implementation status.
  • Generate reports and dashboards to monitor tariff recovery progress, customer impact, and recovery performance.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Pricing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams to gather information and resolve customer inquiries.
  • Assist in reviewing customer contracts and pricing agreements for tariff-related provisions and opportunities.
  • Support customer communications by preparing presentations, spreadsheets, and summary analyses.
  • Perform other sales support and analysis duties as assigned.

Your Profile as Tariff Recovery Intern:
  • Enrolled full-time at an accredited university pursuing a degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Economics, International Business, Marketing, or a related field with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting functions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
