Job description

Roam Hospitality is seeking a hands-on Property Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the 1896 House Country Inn & Pub, a multi-building boutique hospitality property in Williamstown, Massachusetts.
This is a fully on-site position. The Property Manager will work at the hotel property each day and must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Williamstown. Housing is not provided as part of this role.
The Property Manager will oversee the on-site housekeeping team, property upkeep, supplies and inventory, vendors, guest-ready standards, and the property's restaurant and bar operations. This person will serve as Roam Hospitality's primary boots-on-the-ground leader while partnering closely with our remote Property Management, Guest Care, and Operations teams.
This is an operational leadership role for someone who enjoys being actively involved in the property, managing people, solving problems, and ensuring an excellent guest experience.
Housekeeping Leadership & Quality Assurance
  • Schedule, coordinate, and manage the housekeeping team, including leads and room attendants.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and turnover coverage across all property buildings.
  • Conduct quality-assurance inspections of completed rooms and suites before guest arrival.
  • Enforce housekeeping SOPs and Roam Hospitality quality standards.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire housekeeping team members as needed.
  • This role supervises housekeeping operations but is not expected to personally perform routine turnovers, laundry, or room cleaning.
Property Operations & Maintenance
  • Conduct routine property inspections and proactively identify maintenance needs.
  • Complete basic maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, batteries, air filters, and similar minor repairs.
  • Coordinate larger repairs with vendors and the Roam Operations team.
  • Oversee daily property upkeep, grounds, and seasonal needs.
  • Ensure issues are documented, escalated, and resolved promptly.
Supplies, Inventory & Ordering
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels for guest rooms, housekeeping, common areas, lobby, and front-desk supplies.
  • Place and track supply orders before inventory runs low.
  • Receive, verify, and organize deliveries.
Restaurant & Bar Operations
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the on-site restaurant and bar, the '6 House Pub.
  • Hire, schedule, and supervise front- and back-of-house restaurant and bar staff.
  • Manage food, beverage, liquor, and operating supply orders.
  • Maintain vendor and distributor relationships and verify deliveries.
  • Monitor inventory, conduct regular counts, and manage cost and waste.
  • Maintain service, cleanliness, and quality standards.
  • Ensure opening and closing procedures are followed consistently.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable health, food-safety, and liquor requirements.
  • Oversee POS and cash-handling procedures and reconcile daily sales.
This position does not participate in or receive restaurant or bar tips.

Guest Experience & Front Desk Support
  • Ensure all rooms, suites, common areas, and guest-facing spaces are clean, stocked, and guest-ready.
  • Conduct pre-arrival room inspections.
  • Provide front-desk coverage when needed based on property operations.
  • Assist guests in person and resolve on-site concerns.
  • Partner with Roam Hospitality's remote Guest Care team to ensure guest issues are resolved and documented.
Vendors & Emergency Response
  • Schedule, meet, and coordinate local vendors and contractors.
  • Verify the quality and completion of vendor work.
  • Serve as the primary on-site contact for property emergencies.
  • Respond to occasional after-hours property needs such as guest lockouts, Wi-Fi/router issues, or other urgent operational concerns.
Team Leadership & Roam Standards
  • Lead, schedule, and support on-site employees across property operations.
  • Follow and enforce Roam Hospitality SOPs, processes, and brand standards.
  • Communicate closely with Roam's remote Operations, Property Management, and Guest Care teams.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve and document property-level processes.
  • Minimum 2 years of hospitality experience, preferably within hotels, boutique properties, resorts, inns, or short-term-rental operations.
  • Previous experience supervising employees or coordinating hospitality operations strongly preferred.
  • Experience with hotel operations, housekeeping oversight, food & beverage, front desk, or property management is highly valuable.
  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
  • Comfortable managing and scheduling a small on-site team.
  • Comfortable learning and using property technology such as PMS platforms, POS systems, smart locks, and guest-messaging tools.
  • Able to operate independently while working closely with a remote leadership team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a guest-focused mindset.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation required.
  • Must successfully complete a background check.
  • Must live within reasonable commuting distance of Williamstown, Massachusetts, or be willing to relocate independently.
Physical Requirements
This is a physically active hospitality operations role. It requires regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching while inspecting rooms and moving throughout multiple buildings.
The role may also require lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs and using basic tools for minor property maintenance.
Reasonable accommodations will be considered in accordance with applicable law.
Schedule
This is a full-time, on-site position working approximately five days per week.
Specific days and hours may vary depending on occupancy, seasonality, and property needs. The property's peak season runs from late spring through fall.
Because this is an on-site hospitality leadership position, flexibility for occasional after-hours property or guest emergencies is required.
Hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek will be compensated at the applicable overtime rate.
Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000 per year
This position is full-time and non-exempt.

No additional benefits or paid time off are currently offered.
