Property Manager - Property Management
Grow Your Property Management Career with MSP Real Estate
MSP Real Estate is seeking an organized, service-driven, and detail-oriented Property Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our residential property.
This position is ideal for a property management professional who enjoys balancing resident relations, leasing, affordable housing compliance, financial administration, and property operations. Reporting to the Area Property Manager, you will play an important role in maintaining strong occupancy, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting financial performance, and creating a positive experience for our residents.
What You'll Do
As Property Manager, you will be responsible for the overall administration and daily operations of the property, including:
  • Manage the tax-credit application, certification, and annual recertification processes.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable LIHTC/tax-credit requirements and federal, state, and company policies.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of property files and processes to ensure continued compliance.
  • Manage the rental process, including applications, required documentation, leases, renewals, and resident records.
  • Process and maintain ACH documentation for new and existing residents.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and rent collection activities.
  • Communicate professionally with residents and other responsible parties regarding outstanding balances and payment arrangements.
  • Ensure invoices and property-related bills are processed accurately and on time.
  • Monitor occupancy, leasing activity, and property census.
  • Coordinate apartment turnovers with maintenance and other team members to ensure vacant units are prepared for new residents in a timely manner.
  • Utilize the work-order system to track apartment turnover and property needs.
  • Maintain accurate and complete resident, leasing, compliance, and financial documentation.
  • Prepare and submit required operational, occupancy, financial, and compliance reports accurately and on time.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, applicants, families, vendors, and business partners.
  • Respond to resident questions and concerns promptly, professionally, and with a strong customer-service focus.
  • Support the overall appearance, operations, and success of the property.
  • Partner with the Area Property Manager and other members of the MSP Real Estate team to achieve property and organizational goals.
What We're Looking For
Our ideal Property Manager is someone who takes ownership, stays organized, communicates well, and understands that successful property management requires both attention to detail and excellent resident service.
Qualifications include:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 1-2 years of tax-credit, affordable housing, leasing, or property management experience preferred.
  • Experience with LIHTC/tax-credit compliance and resident certification or recertification processes strongly preferred.
  • Strong customer-service and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
  • Ability to manage accounts receivable and communicate professionally regarding rent collection and outstanding balances.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound judgment and strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to travel between assigned MSP Real Estate properties when business needs require.
Physical & Scheduling Requirements
The Property Manager must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:
  • Sitting, standing, walking, and occasionally kneeling throughout the workday.
  • Using computers, monitors, electronic records, and written documentation throughout the day.
  • Working a schedule that supports the operational needs of the property.
  • Traveling to other assigned properties or company locations as needed.
