Position Overview:
The Property Accountant will play a key role in preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting. This position supports both the accounting department and property management teams while also assisting on special projects.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, balance cash accounts, reconcile balance sheets, and ensure accurate coding of transactions.
  • Support property management accounting, including journal entries, financial reports, schedules, and projections.
  • Assist with acquisitions, dispositions, loan draws, capital schedules, distributions, and tax support.
  • Maintain proper business and accounting controls and ensure compliance with procedures.
  • Collaborate with property management teams and provide excellent service to internal and external clients.
  • Review work of other team members and participate in special projects assigned by leadership.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (BBA or higher preferred).
  • 2+ years of accounting experience; real estate accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Yardi (required), MRI, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
  • Excellent organizational skills with accuracy and attention to deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills for advanced projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead on certain portfolio assignments.
