What is property maintenance?

Property maintenance refers to the ongoing upkeep and repair of buildings and their surrounding areas to ensure they are safe, functional, and visually appealing. This includes tasks such as cleaning common areas, landscaping, fixing plumbing or electrical issues, performing routine inspections, and addressing tenant repair requests. Property maintenance is essential for preserving property value, complying with safety regulations, and providing a comfortable environment for occupants.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a property maintenance professional?

To thrive in Property Maintenance, you need strong skills in building repairs, preventative maintenance, and general handyman work, often supported by a high school diploma or technical training.
