Job description

Storage Rentals of America is hiring a Property Manager to join our team. Become the newest member of our exciting team at SROA as we redefine self-storage!

Are you the kind of person who gets bored working in an office and wishes you could have a job that would give you the opportunity to talk to customers, walk outside to get your daily steps and other stuff? If you said yes to all (or most of it), this might be the job for you!

We are a Property Management company that offers great benefits and work-life balance. With us, you will be home for dinner every day or to do anything else you want. We are looking for someone who loves talking to customers, is not afraid of moving around and likes to work independently.

Still not sure if this is for you? Here are some more details that can help you decide.

What do we do exactly?

Our business is buying new Self-Storage properties and managing them. We started in Florida, but after 10 years we have more than 660 properties in 30 States. Pretty great, right? Our mission is to provide affordable, clean, and secure self-storage to everyone.

What do we have to offer?

  • Competitive pay with monthly bonuses
  • UKG Wallet โ€“ on-demand pay option
  • 100% paid medical coverage options for employee-only
  • Dental and vision plans for optimal care
  • Eight (8) paid holidays
  • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO), increasing with years of service
  • Paid Maternity and Parental Leave for growing families
  • 401(k) with substantial employer match and 100% immediate vesting
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Health Savings Accounts (HSA), and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (DCFSA) for tax-advantaged savings
  • GAP Insurance for added financial protection
  • Employer-paid Life Insurance and Short-Term Disability coverage
  • Long-Term Disability (LTD) coverage for added peace of mind
  • Pet insurance โ€“ because your pets are family too
  • Storage Discounts to help you declutter and organize
  • Access to Voluntary Benefits for personalized coverage
  • Learning and development opportunities to maximize your potential and excel in your career
  • A great culture that values collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity

What would you do exactly?

Drive Sales Growth:

  • Help customers to understand the products and services we have to offer.
  • Follow-up with the ones that are still on the fence.
  • Explain Lease Agreements and execute them when they are ready to move forward (yay!)

Customer Service:

  • Self-Storage units is not rocket science, but some questions will come up, so itโ€™s important to answer any questions they might have.
  • Not everything is rainbows and butterflies, so helping customers with complaints is part of your duties.
  • It can be hard to remember all the bills we have to pay, so Calling tenants with past due accounts is crucial.
  • Other departments are also considered customers, so you have to keep clear communication with other teams.
  • Provide a good customer experience so they know they can count on us!

Property Maintenance and Cleaning:

  • With customers moving in and out, cleaning the units is required. Do you know that joy you feel when you enter a clean room? Thatโ€™s what we want for our customers.
  • Cleaning around the property and office is also part of it. This is not just for the customers; you also deserve to work in a clean environment.
  • Daily walks around the property to make sure everything is working properly. As a handy person some things you will know how to fix, and for all the other ones contacting vendors to get the job done is the way to go.

Some Other things:

  • Some customers like to pay with cash, so you will have to drive to the bank to make deposits.
  • Some boring (or not) paperwork like auction files, tenant letters, reports and other office activities.

What do we need from you?

  • You may be responsible for multiple stores and making trips to the bank so reliable transportation and a valid driver's license is required.
  • A year of experience in the Storage Rental Industry would be great, but we are not picky, so if you have a couple of years in Customer Service Management, this should be an easy transition for you.
  • Our schedule is a little bit different, so to make this work you need to be available for business hours from Monday-Saturday, including weekends and Holidays as needed. Our properties are open Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and on Saturdays from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM. We are closed on Sundays.
  • You donโ€™t need to be tech savvy, but computers are everywhere these days, so proficiency in Microsoft Office is necessary.
  • You will be working alone or in a small team most of the time, so we hope thatโ€™s something you look forward to it.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the property requires some physical activities, so make sure you are able to lift up to 50 lbs. as well as push, pull, bend and lift. Regularly walking the property is required.
