Job description

Sigma Defense is seeking a Property Maintenance Technician to join our team in Huntsville, AL. The hired candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and professional office environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple facility-related responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in property maintenance, facilities maintenance, custodial services, groundskeeping, or a related field preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repair techniques.
  • Ability to safely operate maintenance tools, equipment, and lawn care machinery.
  • Proficient with basic computer applications, including email, work order systems, spreadsheets, and internet-based software.
  • Ability to accurately document completed work, update maintenance records, and track work order status.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Driver's license to be able to get between locations.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Personnel Clearance Level:

  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.
  • Clearance may be sponsored for the right candidate.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent).

Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):

  • Perform routine cleaning, minor building repairs, grounds maintenance, and coordinate with outside vendors for specialized repair and maintenance services.
  • Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance of building systems, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the property and identify maintenance needs.
  • Replace light bulbs, air filters, ceiling tiles, and perform basic painting and touch-up work.
  • Complete preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Track, update, and close maintenance work orders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Clean and sanitize offices, restrooms, breakrooms, conference rooms, and common areas.
  • Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, empty trash, and restock supplies.
  • Maintain restrooms, including cleaning and sanitizing toilets, sinks, counters, and fixtures.
  • Ensure the facility maintains a clean, safe, and professional appearance at all times.
  • Mow lawns and maintain landscaped areas.
  • Trim shrubs, remove weeds, and perform seasonal grounds upkeep.
  • Maintain sidewalks, entrances, parking areas, and exterior common spaces.
  • Assist with landscaping improvements and general property appearance.
  • Schedule and coordinate contractors and service providers for specialized repairs and maintenance.
  • Obtain quotes and assist with vendor selection.
  • Monitor vendor performance and verify work completion.
  • Track vendor work orders and ensure timely completion of services.
  • Maintain maintenance records and documentation.
  • Communicate maintenance needs, project updates, and facility concerns to management.

Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 annually.
