Overview
Rust Doctors is seeking a reliable and skilled technician to support our core services in rust prevention, rust removal, and irrigation system integration. This role is centered on protecting properties from well-water rust staining through specialized treatment systems and service routes.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working outdoors while managing both service routes and system installations. Irrigation experience is critical, as all rust prevention systems are directly connected to and integrated with irrigation systems.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform rust removal and rust prevention services on residential and commercial properties
  • Install and maintain rust control feeder pumps and storage tanks
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot rust control feeder pump systems connected to irrigation systems
  • Run scheduled service routes, including refilling tanks and maintaining rust prevention systems
  • Inspect and clean irrigation systems affected by well-water rust staining
  • Assist with irrigation system repairs, upgrades, and conversions (well-water to city-water systems)
  • Perform occasional pressure cleaning of surfaces impacted by rust staining or buildup
  • Ensure all systems (pumps, tanks, and irrigation integration) are operating efficiently and delivering proper treatment levels
  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance on job sites and when interacting with customers
Requirements
  • Strong irrigation experience is required (systems, controllers/clocks, pumps)
  • Understanding that rust prevention systems are installed directly into irrigation systems and must be properly integrated and maintained
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with basic electrical components
  • Comfortable using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
  • Ability to diagnose and solve system performance issues
  • Comfortable performing light pressure cleaning work when needed
  • Ability to work outdoors in Florida conditions
  • Valid drivers license and reliability for route-based work
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
Must have prior experience installing irrigation systems and controllers (clocks).
Preferred (Not Required but Valuable)
  • Experience with chemical feed systems or dosing equipment
  • Background in service routes or field technician work
  • Knowledge of well-water systems and staining issues
