Job description

Key Responsibilities:

Level 1 Operator:

  • Able to operate a variety of products across various spiral loom machines to produce high-quality wire belting products at the standard rate required for production

  • Inspects the quality of various types and sizes of wire belts to match customer requirements.

  • Maintains quality standards by monitoring product appearance and appropriate specifications- Utilizing calipers as required to ensure specifications are met;

    • Performing required quality checks and recording quality information on the work order; making equipment adjustment
    • following appropriate work instructions; reporting quality problems to engineering and supervision.
    • Willingly supports the team in all efforts towards continuous improvement.
    • Capable of using measuring tape, calipers, and able to use math with fractions, decimals, and multiplication/addition.
  • Able to complete common setups across various spiral loom machines

  • Able to diagnose and build products using work order with limited supervision

  • Supports the department by performing other tasks of equal to or lesser job grades as required.

  • Maintain and Promote Fenner Precision Polymers Values and Behaviors at all times.

Level 2 Operator:

  • Able to complete all of Level 1 Operator responsibilities.
  • Mastery of a large variety of setups across various spiral loom machines.
  • Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems impacting product quality without supervision across the majority of products
  • Able to diagnose and build products using work order with no supervision
  • Embraces flexibility within daily responsibilities and is willing to support however needed most
  • Proactively offer ideas to drive continuous improvement

Level 3 Operator:

  • Able to complete all of Level 1 & 2 Operator responsibilities
  • Mastery of all setups across all spiral loom machines within the shop
  • Mastery of troubleshooting techniques across all products and machines
  • Takes initiative to train others across all products and machines and willingly supports others when they face difficulties
  • Leads by example in willingness to be flexible and support the business however needed with a positive attitude
  • Demonstrates leadership in providing ideas to drive continuous improvement

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree(GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Environmental, Health & Safety Expectations:

  • Learn and follow EHS policies, rules and work instructions
  • Attend required EHS training
  • Wear the required PPE at all times
  • Take personal responsibility for keeping yourself and your co-workers and visitors free from injury by participating in and/or conducting risk assessments, work place inspections, corrective actions and safety observations
  • Report incidents, near miss, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts and other hazards in the work place. STOP WORK when imminent danger is present
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion and keep equipment in proper working condition.

The Finisher Role includes:

Welder General Skills:

  • Always Maintain and promote Fenner Precision Polymers values and behaviors.
  • Follow all safety procedures including lifting techniques and limits.
  • Understand the welding process between Left and Right Hand
  • Understand the set-up process of the equipment
  • Cuts, fits, and welds metal using gas and electric welding equipment.
  • Utilizes a variety of machines such as saws, torches, plasma cutter, grinders, and drills to complete work safely and effectively
  • Performs skilled welding on a variety of metals including but not limited to heavy gauged steel.
  • Able to do mid and Tig type welding.
  • Perform simple machining tasks.

Finisher I

  • Perform all general skills responsibilities.
  • Ability to clean and prepare surfaces to be welded.
  • Weld metal parts together as specified by manufacturing order.
  • Complete a visual assessment of quality requirements
  • Understand how to cut mesh and punch holes

Finisher II

  • Perform all general skills and Finisher I responsibilities
  • Able to complete at least 50% of chain jobs
  • Able to weld small specifications
  • Able to complete a filter belt manufacturing order
