Propane Service Technician Apprentice Opportunity

Location: Okeechobee, Florida

Your role in our success:

The Service Tech Apprentice will participate in a structured, hands-on training program to learn the foundational skills of both the Propane Service Technician and/or Delivery Driver roles. This position supports the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and delivery of propane systems and products to residential, commercial, and industrial customers. Under direct supervision, the apprentice will rotate through duties to develop the competencies needed for career advancement within the propane field operations team.

What you'll be working on:

  • Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of propane tanks, gas lines, regulators, and appliances.
  • Shadow licensed service technicians and CDL drivers to learn safety protocols, troubleshooting, leak detection, and system testing.
  • Participate in ride-along and support delivery of propane products using bobtail or cylinder trucks (as applicable).
  • Assist in reading pressure gauges, meters, and service logs while learning to complete all required documentation accurately.
  • Learn to perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at job sites and company facilities.
  • Attend all safety and technical training sessions, including those required for CDL licensing and CETP certification.
  • Interact with customers professionally to provide information, answer questions, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Serve on the on-call rotation and respond to emergency service calls. 

  • Any additional tasks as instructed by management.

Who you are:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Entry level position, some mechanical knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to obtain Commercial Driver’s License required Class B with Hazmat and tanker endorsements within 6 months of employment.
  • DOT Physical required within 60 days.
  • General mechanical aptitude (hand tools).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Able to effectively communicate in a team environment and with customers.
