Since 1980, Chicago Commons has been committed to providing services to help seniors and adults with disabilities stay in their homes, maintain their independence and enhance their quality of life.
We provide home care services to almost 1,300 seniors throughout the Chicago Metropolitan area.
Work is Available on the following zip codes: 60543, 60502,60503,60504, 60540, 60154, 60431, 60432, 60433, 60434, and other western suburbs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Plan and prepare meals, perform light housekeeping chores and tasks
  • Making and changing beds, dusting, washing dishes, vacuuming, cleaning floors
  • Assisting with self-administered medication
  • Remind client to take medication; reading instructions or utilization
  • Assisting with personal care tasks i.e. shaving, shampooing and combing hair
  • Assisting with bathing, toileting, dressing brushing and cleaning teeth and dentures
  • Assist with the appropriate use of equipment or supplies (canes, wheelchairs, etc.) when transferring a client from the bed to a chair or to and from the bath or toilet
  • Assisting the client with range of motion ( such as sitting up or standing)
  • Escort client to medical facilities, shopping and errands or individual business as specified in the plan of care
  • Assist shopping or running of errands
  • Actively participates in all staff meetings, monthly in-service training and regular supervision

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. )
EDUCATION:
  • High School Graduate/ GED equivalent or prior verifiable experience
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • At least 6 months of relevant work experience
  • Ability to speak / write English
  • Bilingual ability a plus (Spanish, Russian, Polish,)
  • Be in compliance with all existing regulations and company policies.
  • Must meet transportation, language and cultural requirements specific to need

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT:
  • Successfully complete all required IDPH - Healthcare Worker Registry background checks.
  • Provide proof of required education.
  • Proof of previous employment and work history
  • 3 written letters of recommendation
  • TB Test
