Job description

The Coordinator – Promotions is responsible for supporting and coordinating the successful execution of promotional events and activities for the Promotions Department. This position ensures accurate communication of marketing efforts, manages staff during promotional execution, maintains proper documentation, and helps ensure the effectiveness and accuracy of all promotional and special event activities across the casino.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates with the Promotions Specialist to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of all promotions and special events.
  • Assists in event execution, including setup and distribution of promotional gifts, cash, or prize giveaways.
  • Communicates effectively with all relevant departments to ensure seamless coordination and execution of promotions and events.
  • Supervises and schedules staff involved in promotion-related programs and activities.
  • Oversees coordination of publicity and promotional campaigns including direct mail, telemarketing, advertising, and community outreach.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of promotional records, logs, and reports.
  • Provides organizational and technical support during all phases of promotional execution.
  • Monitors promotional compliance and guest service during active events.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned to support the efficiency of the department.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides guidance and leadership to promotional staff and support teams.
  • Recruits, trains, and develops team members to ensure quality guest service and promotion execution.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and compliant work environment.
  • Conducts performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective actions as needed.
  • Supports staff development through training, mentoring, and effective communication.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong knowledge of casino promotions, event planning, direct mail, and database marketing.
  • Ability to tactfully interact with guests, staff, and executives in a high-volume environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive promotional or guest-related information.
  • Familiarity with PC-based programs, spreadsheets, and casino marketing tools.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
  • High ethical standards and a guest service-first mindset.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in promotions, events, or marketing support, preferably in a high-volume environment.
  • Proven ability to assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of promotional events and activities.
  • Experience working with internal teams and vendors to manage logistics, materials, and schedules.
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact professionally with guests, resolve issues, and support team members during live events.
  • Prior experience in a casino, resort, or hospitality promotions environment is preferred.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must have successfully completed a background check and obtained a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency, as required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be able to read and interpret documents in English, such as instructions, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and guests.

  • Manual Dexterity: Regularly uses hands and fingers to operate tablets, ticket scanners, computers, and handheld devices; responsible for preparing entry forms, distributing prizes, and completing related documentation with accuracy.
  • Mobility: Frequently walks, stands, climbs stairs, and moves throughout the casino floor, event spaces, and back-of-house areas for extended periods; must be able to move quickly in a high-energy, guest-facing environment.
  • Stationary Work: Occasionally remains seated while completing administrative duties such as filling out reports, entering data, or preparing event materials.
  • Tool Operation: Regular use of handheld radios, scanners, tablets, drawing bins, promotional kiosks, and standard office equipment.
  • Visual Acuity: Requires strong near and distance vision to verify guest information, observe crowd activity, and complete documentation and promotional logs accurately.
  • Working Conditions: Routinely operates on the casino floor and in promotional areas with exposure to bright lights, loud noise, frequent public interaction, and a smoking environment throughout the property.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires the ability to adapt and perform under pressure. The casino operates with moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment, requiring team members to work comfortably in these conditions.

WORKING HOURS:

Morongo Casino Resort & Spa operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; therefore, flexibility in scheduling is essential. Team members must be available to work shifts that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs and may include overtime, as well as work on both weekdays and weekends.
