Video & Publications Specialist
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to Ministry Support Coordinator
Grade III ($19.30 - $30.30 Based on experience and qualification)
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the general guidance of the Executive Assistant to the Ministry Support Coordinator, the Video and Publications Specialist provides vision and creativity to execute video production projects for Family Ministry at NewSpring Church. Designs the layout, color, font, and graphics for various publications.
The incumbent must perform all job duties as outlined in this job description to support ongoing mission of the church while committed in accordance with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000 edition).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Works independently under the direction of the Ministry Support Coordinator on storyboarding, planning, lighting, and filming for video and photo elements. Sets up & directs special videos needed for Family Ministry environments and special events. This includes independently planning different shots, music, and the editing of video and audio. (app. 50%)
• Independently, assesses locations, sets up components, films and edits special videos for Family Ministry showcasing promotions, monthly curriculum recaps, and other events. (app. 20%)
• Creates print, digital, and video media resources (handouts, event logos, series graphics, games, and other in-service media). (app. 10%)
• Designs a cohesive layout for social media publications including editing video, adding design, color, text, and graphic content. (app. 10%)
• Assists with special events for KidzWorld and Student Ministry. (app. 10%)
These duties are subject to change as church needs and strategies evolve. Employee may be required to perform other duties.
Requirements
EDUCATION/TRAINING• College degree with specialization in media is preferred.
• Specialized training/classes in video production or similar field is required. EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience volunteering or working in ministry.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of video production/editing is preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in video directing and storyboarding.
REQUIRED SKILLS
• Positive temperament, dependability, and professionalism with effective interpersonal skills.
• Basic written and verbal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Must be able to work with minimum oversight to make sure the project is done on time.
• Proficient communication, organizational, and coordination skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Ability to multitask.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Lightroom, Photoshop, etc.).
• Working understanding of the video-editing process.
• Ability to use cinematic cameras and lenses.
• Ability to use DSLR and/or mirrorless cameras.
• Ability to light indoor and outdoor sets.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating a creative eye for video production set design.
• Ability to maintain high quality work while meeting tight deadlines.
• Must be able to make decisions quickly to keep production time down.
• Professional demeanor and appearance.
• Must have the ability to deal courteously with the public.
