Job Description Northern Staffing Services of Petoskey in conjunction with Kilwins Chocolates is seeking Manufacturing Detailers for their Mid -shift. Starting pay is $18.50/hour plus a $1.50/hour shift premium. Qualified candidates please see job description below: JOB SUMMARY Detailing: Carries out the daily and weekly cleaning, sanitizing, polishing activities at Kilwins Quality Confections (KQC) based on the production schedule and direction from either the Production Supervisor or the Production Manager, in a manner that meets and/or exceeds the business plan
This includes supporting the manufacturing team with cleaning and sanitizing as needed to support team productivity. This requires understanding all cleaning and sanitizing procedures which support food safety, food quality, Kosher and Organic certifications as described in our SSOP's and GMP's. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1.
Personally represents Kilwins Core Values, Core Purpose, Core Operating Standards, and Brand Promise. 2. Provide integrity, honesty and knowledge that promotes the culture, values and purpose of the Kilwins Brand.
3. Monitor and ensure an environment for Industrial Safety and Food Safety including but not limited to Lock Out practices, Equipment Operator Training Certifications, Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures and other Good Manufacturing Practices. 4.
Support brand and 5S expectations through clean space organization with a mindset of "tour ready at all times". 5. Practice and encourage safe work habits and report any unsafe conditions.
Understand, support, implement, and ensure compliance to all company and governmental agencies safety policies, procedures and regulations. 6. Mix or otherwise prepare all cleaning and sanitizing chemicals according to manufacturer specifications as required to support manufacturing activities.
Use test strips or other means of verification to ensure proper strength. 7. Organize and store all cleaning chemicals in a manner that eliminates all risk of food contamination.
8. Review and understand the production schedule as it relates to job specific cleaning and sanitizing. 9.
Support and track job specific cleaning and sanitizing activities as required for accurate production reporting. 10. Take ownership of dish room cleanliness and organization, and seek ways to improve flow and efficiency.
11. Inspect tools and utensils during cleaning to ensure all surfaces can be cleaned and sanitized, initiating replacement for those that become damaged or deteriorate over time. 12.
Conduct polishing and detailing activities as assigned by Production Supervisor and Production Manager to ensure all adjacent food contact surfaces are cleaned and sanitized, and to ensure a state of inspection or tour readiness at all times. 13.Inspect plant equipment for defects, leaks, or other potential problems during cleaning and polishing activities. Report any issues to Production Supervisor
14. Maintain a clean work area, including equipment, and all manufacturing storage areas. Actively participate in the end-of-shift cleaning duties.

High school diploma required. 2. Experience in commercial/industrial cleaning and/or material handling preferred.
3. Working knowledge of candy making equipment, cleaning equipment/supplies and inventory/warehousing equipment preferred. 4.
Knowledge of Kilwins manufacturing operations preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT 1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
2. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read, talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is frequently required to sit; stand; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee will lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
