Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for managing and supporting capital investment and operational projects across various areas of the plant. Projects handled will vary in size and type, depending on the plant's needs. Often manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

POSITION RESPONSBILITIES:

  • Manage major capital investment projects from project conception to completion for any area of the plant.
  • Effectively communicate project information to all affected stakeholders, including leading meetings, providing updates, managing conflict, and finding solutions with both internal and external resources.
  • Complete projects on time, within budget, and achieve project goals.
  • Interface with and manage external suppliers for project work.
  • Supervise contracted resources while onsite for facility improvement projects. Safety to include at a minimum: toolbox talks, daily work permits and constant supervisor presence.
  • Manage maintenance projects to solve various problems in the mill.
  • Maintain technical documents and prints.
  • Ensure all documents and prints are easily available for all plant personnel.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • 4-year bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • 5-10 years project management experience preferred.
  • 2-3 years Industrial related experience preferred.
  • Project Management certification (PMP or CAPM) a plus.
  • Excellent computer skills

FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge and skills in AutoCAD, MS EXCEL, MS Project.
  • Capable of working independently in a self-directed environment
