Responsibilities:

Operational

Budgetary / Financial
• Meet or exceed individual billable hours and billable revenue targets
• Maintain WIP aging in acceptable range (<15% WIP over 45 days)
• Review WIP on projects weekly and requests invoices frequently
• Assemble cost estimate for proposals, and enter into Project Planning in the ERP system
• Monitor project budgets throughout the course of the project to ensure costs are on track and proactively make adjustments as needed keeping the client updated
• Follow procedures for invoicing projects on a progress or a final close out
• Provide assistance to Accounting Dept. when tasked for collections or invoicing issues

Project Tasks / Performance
• Update A.R.C. for open projects with current stages and associated due dates
• Maintain acceptable report turnaround time to ensure timely deliverables
• Review project scope and select tasks and deliverables
• Field calls from potential and existing clients
• Follow the procedure for opening new projects, communicate all required information
• Establish the schedule for the projects and assign appropriate/capable staff
• Perform and/or coordinate field investigations
• Oversee field personnel activity and quality and provide feedback to the team involved
• Select, rent or borrow the necessary equipment for projects
• Prepare and review reports for projects
• Enter time and expenses daily
• Save all project-related documents into electronic project file

Business Development
• Monitor open opportunities in ERP system and follow up with the client accordingly
• Maintain relationships with focus clients and update data accordingly in ERP system
• Attend association meetings and client meetings
• Arrange and attend presentation opportunities
• Refer and/or engage the business development team in local opportunities
• Assist in the preparation of marketing resources (project summaries)

Technical
• Maintain technical certifications
• Attend required technical training (internal and external)
• Assist in the development of staff
• Maintain internal QA/QC compliance

Abilities:
• Effective, professional and clear communication skills, both written and oral
• Flexibility in work schedule and willingness to travel to different project locations as needed
• Ability to use and quickly learn computer programs, including Microsoft Office Word and Excel

Experience:
• Minimum 8 years of experience working in the field and/or experience successfully managing large and complex projects in at least one area of our service lines

Education / Credential:
• Bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene, health and safety, biological or physical science is preferred

Licenses and Certifications

Required certifications must be current and relevant to the scope of work. Preferred (not required):

  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
  • Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST)

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Physical ability to stoop, kneel, climb, crawl, walk, and stand for extended periods in varied work environments to perform sampling activities
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer for documentation and reporting
  • Must be able to pass a background check, annual physicals, and OSHA-required respirator fit tests
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
