Job description

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintains full familiarity with plans, specifications, construction schedules, and contractor's plans on assigned contracts, the Project Management Plan, and current safety regulations to be knowledgeable of the project team (i.e., WMATA, consultants, and multiple contractors) responsibilities;
  • Assists WMATA in the oversight of the project(s) budget.
  • Establishes and maintains all financial records for the project, uploads any files into WMATAs record keeping management system (Procore);
  • Monitors all payroll reports and compares against field reports for accuracy of information. Prepares variance report and submits to project management team members;
  • Analyze all relevant project documents in regular reconciliation of proposed versus actual costs against the project budget;
  • Report on scope changes, total project budgets versus forecasts, and schedule variances. Reports to include project and portfolio key performance indicators (KPIs) and variance narratives of projects;
  • Document project contingency use, align with Construction Change Order Management System data and project forecasts.
  • Coordinate addenda to the Project Charter and/or Project Statement;
  • Review project overall schedule performance, coordinate with integrated master schedule;
  • Review and update project management and controls processes and procedures;
  • Provide technical support for change order management;
  • Assist in the development and preparation of cost estimates, change notices, and contract modification packages;
  • Assist in the monitoring of project activities, claims and change orders, progress reporting, payments, and other contract administration functions; and
  • Perform other project related duties as assigned by the WMATA Task Manager.

Background and Experience Required
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, finance, or related field;
  • A minimum of six (6) years of project financial and portfolio management experience;
  • Experienced in change order management;
  • Experience with Microsoft 365® applications, specifically Power BI, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint; and
  • Experience developing reports from financial and project systems.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with WMATA standard processes and procedures
  • PMP Certification is desirable but not required• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, finance, or related field;
  • A minimum of six (6) years of project financial and portfolio management experience;
  • Experienced in change order management;
  • Experience with Microsoft 365® applications, specifically Power BI, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint; and
  • Experience developing reports from financial and project systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Salary Range: $116,000 to $140,000 YR
