Overview

Senior Systems Engineer (Infrastucture) Objective

To provide technical engineering and support of the Farm Bureau Family of Companies' Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure components. To focus on installation, maintenance and upgrades on computing systems, storage systems, telephone systems and server systems. To engage in continuous collaboration across multiple IT groups for improved project success. To provide project planning within the IT Division projects. To provide architectural guidance, consultation, recommendations, and problem resolution for all Infrastructure components. To provide training and mentoring for non-senior engineers and administrators. To provide processing and support for business applications and computer operations, reporting, project delivery and strategic planning services to satisfy requirements for all divisions of the Insurance Companies and affiliated companies as requested.

Responsibilities

Senior Systems Engineer (Infrastucture) Responsibilities

Design and implement computer systems, software, and solutions that include defining complex system requirements, determining system specifications, processes, and working parameters. Lead development of system architecture, departmental planning, and other strategic documents.

Design, develop, implement, and manage enterprise level virtualization environment.

Design, develop, implement, and manage enterprise level compute and storage systems.

Design, develop, implement and manage enterprise level Windows environment, including multiple Active Directory domains.

Qualifications

Senior Systems Engineer (Infrastucture) Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's degree in computer science required, or equivalent experience may be considered.

Minimum eight years diverse technical experience, including experience in Microsoft Windows and VMware Virtualization technologies in a large multi-server WAN environment required.

Experience in both physical and virtual computing environments, storage platform knowledge, Ethernet knowledge, TCP/IP experience, switching and router technologies, and security technologies required.

Strong organizational skills required.

Proven ability to communicate well with both end-users and technical personnel, and to do research and development of products in a timely manner required.

If a candidate is not selected, a Systems Engineer (Infrastructure) may be considered on the level of experience and qualifications.
