Job description

The Korte Company is seeking an experienced Project Scheduler. Individual will work as lead on commercial construction projects to perform scheduling responsibilities. Will be responsible for the assembling and analyzing of project information while improving the efficient planning and scheduling of projects. Will develop detailed schedules with the project team and trade partners. Will monitor projects in accordance to set schedules based on departmental procedures. Will be responsible for the input, analysis, and monitoring of design deliverables, procurement and construction schedules. Will develop internal and external reports describing project status. Work will require application of planning/scheduling and cost techniques and methods based on level of experience and will involve substantial evaluation, analysis, and modification of such standards in problem-solving efforts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Produce preconstruction and proposal schedules.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Primavera P6 scheduling software.
  • Primavera P6 database management and maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Project scheduling software.
  • Facilitate project team planning sessions.
  • Development of the baseline overall schedule using well-defined and properly sequenced work activities.
  • Oversee all project scheduling activities and provide required status updates, forecasts, and reports as necessary.
  • Develop project schedule layouts in conjunction with the project team, alternate schedules and progress measurement of the schedule.
  • Verifying that the updates are an accurate representation of the work accomplished.
  • Understand the flow and logistics needed for the execution of the project.
  • Supports ongoing projects by working with the project manager and discipline leads on project status, identifying opportunities for improvement, delays and areas where additional concentration is required.
  • Recommending work around plans to keep the project on track.
  • Perform other duties as requested by project management.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and statements of work in the preparation and acceptance of usable Baseline schedules for construction.
  • Monitor multiple project schedules being developed and updated by Operations staff and provide guidance as necessary.
  • Interact with the Operations team and represent Korte and its partners in the best manner to owners, subcontractors, and their representatives.
  • Utilize analytics to identify and report on project trends.
  • Effectively cost and manpower load schedules for use during the execution of the project.
  • Evaluate the actual construction status relative to proposed plan.
  • Analyze and communicate the impact of changes to the schedule.
  • Prepare Time Impact Analyses per recommended practices by commonly accepted standards.
  • Travel to project sites.
  • Develop and deliver specialized Planning, Scheduling and other Project Controls training for Korte Corporate University
  • Critique, create, and recommend improvements to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Be responsible for special projects and other departmental duties as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE
Qualified applicants will have:
  • Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Architecture or Civil Engineering
  • Primavera P6 Professional Advanced certification required
  • 5 years' experience in the construction industry
  • 3-5 years of Primavera P6 experience is required
  • Past experience in project organization and scheduling while remaining within budget
