PS Job Title: Project Controls Spec Sr - CP

This posting will be used to fill multiple vacancies.
Job Summary/Purpose
Individual shall have demonstrated skill in project controls and scheduling obtained through working on Utility Infrastructure projects (preferred) or other major capital projects.
Supports Project Management team as needed to ensure successful execution of assigned projects by developing and maintaining project reporting and delivering cost and schedule certainty.
Promotes safe behavior and adherence to the safety rules on the project.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Provides guidance in the various disciplines of project management and control by applying fundamental schedule and cost control techniques.
  • Support in the development and maintenance of project schedules, plans, and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
  • Identify, analyze and document project schedule and cost variances between planned and earned/actual progress and conclude on possible impacts.
  • Provide analysis of contractor schedule data to identify key project issues, verify contractor progress, and review their performance trends.
  • Collaborates with the project manager and other project team members to identify, characterizes and documents project risks in a risk register and develops mitigation plans.
  • Takes direction and provides support from project leadership to ensure quality cost, schedule, risk management, change management, contract management and reporting.
  • Work is performed in both an office setting and in field conditions.

Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position:
Project Controls Spec II - CP
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Project Management (or related field) OR 4 years equivalent/related work experience (in addition to the Minimum Experience requirement) in lieu of a degree.

Project Controls Spec, Sr - CP
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Project Management (or related field) OR 6 years equivalent/related work experience (in addition to the Minimum Experience requirement) in lieu of a degree.

Minimum experience required of the position:
Project Controls Spec II - CP
  • 3 years minimum experience in project development and project controls experience (utility capital project experience desired) OR 2 years of experience in the management and control of small, medium and/or large utility capital projects with an EPC or Engineering firm (desired).

Project Controls Spec, Sr - CP
  • 4 years minimum capital project management and/or project control experience with project controls focus. Utility capital project experience essential.
    • Desired: Project controls experience on large scale capital projects.
    • Desired: Experience of project controls implemented on projects executed under various types of contract agreements including EPC. Both contractor and owner construction project controls experience.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

  • Utilize schedule software such as Primavera, Microsoft Project, Acumen Fuse, Oracle Crystal Ball, etc.
  • Assists in the performance of analysis, optimization, and reporting on Entergy project(s) including assessments of risk, cost, and schedule associated with completing planned scopes of work according to multi-year budget plans.
  • Demonstrable experience in working on construction sites, engineering office, fabrication sites, etc. to support project teams.
  • Demonstrates experience in working with EPC Contracts.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal skills.
