 Project Planning & Controls

• Run the full project life cycle, including preconstruction, planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, fabrication, field installation, startup, and closeout.
• Plan and manage project schedules while identifying and mitigating variances.
• Develop and manage project estimates and budget setup.
• Manage project costs, forecasts, and projections through completion.
• Plan and manage project control systems and reporting.
• Coordinate work to support permitting and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments and proactively manage resources to meet project objectives.

Financial & Change Management

• Write and manage RFIs and change orders.
• Take off quantities and prepare pricing for changes when directed.
• Perform estimating and procurement activities.
• Maintain project financial performance and profitability.

Technical Review & Support

• Thoroughly review all drawings, submittals, samples, and shop drawings to ensure installation and final product meet contract requirements.
• Provide field engineering and technical support as required.
• Support QA/QC efforts and constructability reviews.
• Assist with planning for critical lifts, rigging activities, and complex installations when applicable.

Leadership & Communication

• Direct activities of project staff personnel.
• Lead, mentor, and manage interns, field engineers, project engineers, and other team members.
• Maintain proactive and positive relationships with craft personnel, supervision, vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal departments (Safety, CAD/BIM, Accounting, IT).
• Represent JH Kelly at client and project meetings.
• Keep management informed of project status, scheduling, and financial performance.

Safety & Quality

• Ensure, follow, and promote company safety and quality protocols.
• Review construction procedures and provide technical support for work.
• Ensure construction work in-house and by subcontractors complies with contract requirements.

Closeout

• Oversee punch lists, documentation, and final handoff.
• Ensure systems are delivered clean, compliant, and ready for operation.

Additional Duties

• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

What You Bring

• Experience: 5+ years of experience managing construction projects through the full project life cycle. For the Structural Project Manager role: experience in structural steel, miscellaneous metals, fabrication, erection, or related structural construction environments. For the Mechanical Project Manager role: experience in mechanical systems, process piping, HVAC, industrial construction, or related mechanical construction environments. Experience with semiconductor, data center, industrial, or complex commercial projects is highly desirable. Proven experience with scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, resource planning, risk management, and project controls.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and industry experience will also be considered.

• Skills:  Fully proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and Excel. Knowledge of CPM scheduling using Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software. Experience using construction technology platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revizto, Navisworks, and Bluebeam. Strong project management, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction documents.

• Preferred Qualities: Experience managing self-perform and subcontracted work. Background in union construction environments. Structural steel fabrication and erection experience (Structural PM). Pipefitting, mechanical systems, or industrial process experience (Mechanical PM).

Physical Requirements
This role requires transitioning between office and construction field settings. In the office, you'll sit for extended periods at a computer, performing repetitive tasks like typing and communicating by telephone. In the field, you'll stand and walk for extended periods on various surfaces, including uneven terrain, climb stairs, kneel, crouch, and crawl to inspect tight spaces, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds. Good vision and hearing are essential for reading plans, inspecting work, and communicating on-site. You'll work outdoors in various weather conditions, adhere to site-specific dress codes, and wear PPE (hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed boots).
