Teck’s Trail Operations, located in the community of Trail in British Columbia, is one of the world’s largest fully integrated zinc and lead smelting and refining complexes. Role Overview

Teck is looking for an experienced Industrial Hygienist to join our team at our Trail Operations, one of the world's largest fully integrated zinc and lead smelting and refining complexes. Reporting to the Manager, Health & Safety & Risk, the Industrial Hygienist will lead the industrial hygiene team at Teck Trail Operations. In this role, you will serve as the site’s technical authority on occupational health, driving continuous improvement programs that safeguard employee well-being.

The Industrial Hygienist works closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, environment, and safety teams to identify risks, implement practical solutions, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

This role is based in the welcoming community of Trail, situated in the beautiful West Kootenay region of southeastern British Columbia. Here you will find outdoor adventure at your fingertips! Key Responsibilities

· Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures

· Supervise and mentor a team of industrial hygiene technicians, providing technical guidance and ensuring high standards in industrial hygiene practices

· Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive industrial hygiene programs, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, corporate governance systems, and industry best practices

· Develop and oversee risk profiles and facilitate exposure reduction plans related to exposure and hygiene and health improvements

· Collaborate with the Occupational Health Lead and medical consultants to oversee biological monitoring and medical surveillance

programs, including analysis, reporting, and trending of results

· Evaluate the effectiveness and adequacy of occupational health programs, reporting findings to management and recommending improvements

· Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance health and hygiene performance

· Coordinate periodic audits of industrial hygiene programs, ensuring monitoring, QA/QC, and documentation standards are met

· Develop and deliver technical training and awareness programs to ensure employees and leaders understand hygiene risks, controls, and regulatory requirements

· Remain current on emerging occupational hygiene practices, technologies, and regulatory changes, and communicate relevant developments to stakeholders

· Maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies, researchers, and Union, representing Teck in occupational health matters

· Participate in corporate occupational health and hygiene forums and committees, contributing Trail Operations expertise and supporting cross-site alignment

Qualifications

· Post-secondary degree in Occupational Hygiene or a related science field; graduate degree preferred

· Professional Certification:

o Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH) – Canadian Registration Board of Occupational Hygienists or

o Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) – American Board of Industrial Hygiene

· Minimum 5 years of occupational health and hygiene experience in an industrial environment

· Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and evaluating occupational health and hygiene programs

· Strong ability to interpret complex exposure data and translate findings into practical, risk-based solutions

· Exceptional communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills with experience engaging diverse teams and stakeholders

· Demonstrated ability to influence colleagues and drive health and safety best practices

· Advanced research, analytical, and writing skills with keen attention to detail

· Results-driven with excellent organizational, planning, and decision-making abilities

· Skilled in team leadership, development, and mentoring

Pay Range: CAD $107,000 - $132,000 per year

The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
