Job Description:
Join a growing financial services organization as a Portfolio Manager within its newly established Enterprise Program Management Office. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced PMO and portfolio management leader who thrives in building organizations, creating governance frameworks, and driving strategic portfolio oversight. Rather than inheriting an established PMO, you'll help define how enterprise initiatives are evaluated, prioritized, governed, measured, and delivered across the organization.

Working alongside the AVP of the PMO, you'll establish enterprise portfolio governance, develop standardized methodologies, build executive reporting capabilities, and create the operating framework that supports strategic business growth. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating structure, influencing executive decision-making, and building scalable PMO capabilities from the ground up.

Responsibilities:
  • Establish and lead enterprise portfolio governance, stage-gate processes, and portfolio management standards across the organization.
  • Develop and standardize PMO methodologies, templates, reporting, and governance practices across Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery models.
  • Ensure alignment between strategic business objectives, investment priorities, resource capacity, and portfolio execution.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Portfolio Analysts and Business Analysts while building a high-performing portfolio management function.
  • Own enterprise intake, initiative elaboration, demand management, and portfolio prioritization processes.
  • Develop executive dashboards, KPI reporting, portfolio analytics, and benefits realization frameworks to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Monitor portfolio health, delivery performance, risks, dependencies, and expected versus realized business outcomes.
  • Partner with executive leadership to support portfolio planning, strategic roadmaps, investment decisions, and organizational priorities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives while helping mature the Enterprise PMO and establish consistent governance across the organization.
  • Partner with technology and business leaders to evaluate, implement, and optimize future PPM solutions and Agile tool integrations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • 8-10+ years of progressive experience in Enterprise PMO, Portfolio Management, Program Governance, or related leadership roles.
  • Proven experience establishing portfolio governance, executive reporting, PMO standards, and enterprise portfolio management practices.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional portfolios supporting strategic business initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery methodologies and governance models.
  • Experience building executive dashboards, portfolio analytics, KPIs, capacity planning, and benefits realization reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence executive stakeholders and drive strategic decision-making through data and governance.
  • Experience leading and developing Business Analysts, Portfolio Analysts, or other PMO professionals.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where new capabilities, processes, and organizational structures are being established.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification.
  • MBA or Master's degree.
  • Experience implementing or optimizing Enterprise PPM platforms and Agile tool integrations.
  • Experience supporting Financial Services, Wealth Management, Insurance, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience building or transforming Enterprise PMOs and establishing portfolio governance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Planner, or comparable portfolio management tools.
Benefits and Perks:
  • Total earning potential of approximately $160,000 - $188,000 through bonus and incentive opportunities
  • 100% employer-paid Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance for employees and eligible dependents
  • Retirement plan with a 50% employer match on contributions up to IRS limits
  • 20 days of Paid Time Off plus 10 paid holidays
  • Flexible remote work from home days
  • Opportunity to help build and grow a new Enterprise PMO
  • High visibility with executive leadership
  • Collaborative, high-performing team environment
Your New Organization:
Join a highly respected financial services organization making a significant investment in building a modern Enterprise Program Management Office. This newly created role offers the opportunity to establish the governance, portfolio management practices, and strategic operating framework that will shape how enterprise initiatives are prioritized and delivered for years to come. Working closely with executive leadership, you'll help build a scalable PMO while influencing key business decisions and driving enterprise-wide delivery excellence. If you enjoy building organizations, creating governance from the ground up, and making a lasting strategic impact, you'll have the opportunity to shape the future of the Enterprise PMO from day one.
