Job Summary/Objective:
The purpose of Southwire's College Programs is to help early career professionals bring together formal learning and
productive work to improve their ability to transition from school to work. Southwire provides interns and co-ops with
"real world" applications of their academic studies, helpful feedback and coaching, and consideration for employment
after graduation. Each student will have a variety of responsibilities and assigned projects that relate to their field of
study and be responsible for developing a timeline, progress updates, and final delivery in a senior leadership expo.
Note: All new interns and co-ops must begin in the summer rotation.

Key Responsibilities
• Your intern assignment is generally 10-12 weeks, and co-op assignment is generally 16-18 weeks and
will include an assigned project and opportunities to present your work.
• You will also collaborate on other exciting projects and work with talented peers and inspirational
leaders, many of whom began as interns and co-ops themselves.
• You will be provided a robust developmental experience through an immersive onboarding and
offboarding experience, assigned a mentor, networking opportunities, organized events, activities, and
community service /volunteer initiatives.
• You will have the opportunity to impact the future of the organization, all the while being exposed to
a world-class program community.
• Finally, our rising senior interns and co-ops are considered for full-time employment opportunities.
Long Description
Position Summary
The Customer Events & Experience Intern will support the planning, coordination, and execution of customer visits and experiences, employee-facing conferences, customer appreciation events, and strategic engagement activities. This role provides hands-on experience in customer experience management, event operations, marketing communications, stakeholder coordination, and executive engagement.
The intern will work closely with Customer Experience, Marketing, Sales, Product Management, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to help deliver professional, engaging, and memorable experiences that strengthen customer relationships and support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning and coordinating customer experiences.
  • Support agenda development, meeting preparation, and customer-specific briefing materials.
  • Conduct customer and company research to help create personalized experiences and discussion topics.
  • Assist in preparing briefing books, executive summaries, presentations, and customer-facing materials.
  • Help coordinate customer experience surveys and compile feedback reports.
  • Support planning and execution of customer and employee-facing conferences and events
  • Assist with venue coordination, catering, transportation, lodging, registration management, and onsite logistics.
  • Help manage event timelines, task lists, budgets, and vendor communications.
  • Support setup, execution, and breakdown activities during events.
  • Ensure customer-facing spaces, materials, and hospitality elements meet established standards.
  • Assist in developing event communications, social media content, and other customer-facing assets.
  • Help maintain customer experience content libraries and event documentation.
  • Support creation of storytelling materials that communicate company capabilities, innovation, culture, and customer value.
  • Maintain customer visit records, event databases, and planning documents.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings and coordinating cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Support collection and analysis of event metrics, survey data, and engagement results.
  • Help prepare reports and dashboards that measure participation, satisfaction, and business impact.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA.
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Hospitality/Tourism Management, or Event Management
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organization, planning, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or other relevant tools.
