Certified Pega Lead System Architect
Rockville, MD
Long Term Contract

Advanced Architecting: Develop and design advanced enterprise-level systems. Architect and design complex solutions for large-scale Pega-based applications.
Team Management: Manage a team of developers and deliver a project from concept to finish.
Enterprise Collaboration: Work with other architects to explore and define how proposed capabilities will fit into a specific system and the overall solution architecture of the Pega ecosystem.
Strategical Roadmap: Consider the past, current, and future states of specific systems or systems as a whole, to analyze and produce an effective roadmap to grow and maintain the Pega ecosystem.
Deliverables: Strategic Documentation.
Mentorship / Inspire: Provide architecture and design guidance to individuals or project teams. To the contractor shall help educate and inspire fellow developers to learn and maximize their potential as they grow in their respective roles, working to mentor them and provide guidance on ways to improve their craft.
Integration Management: Build and maintain awareness of the various components that exist in each system to better understand and manage how those pieces will integrate and affect one another.
Deliverables: System/Application/Component Documentation.
Complex Data Structures: Design advanced classes, data structures and foundational components with integrations between multiple internal or external systems.
Deliverables: Classes, Complex Data Structures.
Thought Leadership: Work with stakeholders to evaluate existing processes, clarify strategic objectives, and contribute to development plans as well as analyze and recommend how processes might be made to be more efficient.
Deliverables: Development Plans, Process Documents.
Customer Relationships: Maintain customer relationships within the ITB and across the NIA enterprise.
Digital Whiteboarding Tools: Use a variety of digital whiteboarding tools (Visio / Adobe XD / PowerPoint / Figma, etc.) in order to help provide users with a centralized point of reference in virtual meetings to help generate discussion and feedback. Utilize these tools on the fly in meetings quickly and adapt to user input to adjust and make changes in real time. Use meetings or other collaboration methods to generate documentation from diagrams or flowcharts.
Deliverables: Flow Charts, Diagrams.
External Technologies: Research, learn and explore the capabilities of other non-Pega-based technologies that might be able to help or contribute to overall Pega-based solutions.
Code Review: Conducts code reviews to run quality checks and offers insight into ways to code or design better at scale.
Deliverables: Code Reviews.
Working in a Remote Environment: Work in a remote environment and manage a geographically distributed team.
Communication Skills / Collaboration: Communicate clearly and collaborate with teams to iterate on software development concepts and other ideas beneficial to the institute. Discuss and provide analysis of feasibility.
Troubleshooting / Analysis: Troubleshoot complex technical issues using tools to help debug and analyze data.
Azure DevOps: Manage work in Microsoft Azure DevOps, utilize boards, queries and the creation and updates of pertinent work items.
Deliverables: User Stories, Queries.
Documentation & User Guides: Develop pertinent documentation and user guides for NIA applications to be used and referred to by fellow developers or NIA Staff.
Deliverables: Project / Application / System Documentation.
Critical Thinking & Analysis: Solve problems, think critically, and analyze user feedback or requirements. Analyze problems and logically break down into sizable portions which can be presented to development teams or clients for consideration. Deliverables: Flow Charts, Diagrams.
Certifications and Relevant Experience: Completion of the Pega Lead Systems Architect certification is required for this role.
