Shop Superintendent – Lead Production and Operational Excellence

Job Overview:

  • Company: Moon Fabricating Corp.

  • Salary/Pay Rate: $80,000 annually plus performance-based bonus opportunities.

  • Location: On-site (Kokomo, IN).

  • Job/Employment Type: Full Time.

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday (8-hour shifts).

  • Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: None Required.

The Opportunity: You will serve as a pivotal operational leader, driving the daily success of a world-class custom steel fabrication shop. This role empowers you to mentor skilled craftsmen while implementing process improvements that directly impact on-time delivery and company growth. You will bridge the gap between senior leadership and the shop floor to ensure quality and efficiency.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Direct daily shop operations and coordinate work sequences with Leadmen to maximize productivity.

  • Implement strategic process improvements that increase reliability and performance across all departments.

  • Supervise labor hour reporting and daily task documentation to ensure project transparency and budget adherence.

  • Mentor team members in technical skills including welding, grinding, and blueprint reading to foster craftsmanship.

  • Enforce strict compliance with Quality Control Inspection procedures and safety protocols at all times.

  • Facilitate seamless project kick-offs by communicating critical work order details to the fabrication team.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven leadership experience in a fabrication or industrial shop environment.

  • Solid understanding of production workflows, labor tracking, and resource management.

  • Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and interpret technical specifications.
