The Manager is expected to provide hands-on leadership to ensure the effectiveness of PCHPs strategic Data Warehouse implementation efforts while also leveraging established best-practice around PCHPs ongoing data-management operations.Minimum SpecificationsEducation* Bachelors degree in computer science, management information systems, information technology, statistics, mathematics, or related discipline is required.* Masters degree in related disciplines is preferred.Experience* Six (6) years of progressive experience working directly in complex Data Warehouse environments.* Four (4) years of experience performing heavy data integration across multiple source systems, including two (2) years using MS SSIS and SSMS.* Four (4) years of experience in Data Modeling and / or Database Administration, including two (2) years in a MS SQL Server environment.* Two (2) years of experience with Data Warehouse implementation and data integration within a Healthcare Organization supporting both business and clinical functions.* Two (2) years of experience supporting healthcare interoperability requirements.* Two (2) years of leadership experience supporting data warehouse implementations and managing teams of database administrators, data engineers, and data architects.Skills or Special Abilities* Must be critical thinker who is able to understand business / clinical requirements and architect solutions requiring complex data integration and data management* Must be skilled in data analysis and Infomart design* Has clear understanding of data environments across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid platforms* Working knowledge of Data Vault 2.0 is strongly desired* Ability to work under pressure and manage team to meet deadlines* Excellent verbal and written communication skills* Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple competing projects and deadlines* Customer service orientation and ability to understand end-user needs* Sound understanding of computer systems, networks, security, databases, and reporting* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook* Working knowledge of healthcare related IT concepts such as EDI, HIE, and InteroperabilityResponsibilities* Provides leadership, guidance, and support for the Data Warehouse Team* Oversees day-to-day DW operations and supporting infrastructure, ensuring that processes are well defined and that process controls are in place to trigger required interventions* Supports approved IT projects in line with organizational objectives* Responsible for ensuring appropriate security controls exist for inbound and outbound DW processes* Participates on PCHPs Data Governance Committee* Collaborates with Parkland Health IT and other business partners / vendors to ensure cross-system effectiveness* Proposes strategic solutions and recommends new systems, software, and infrastructure* Communicates ongoing progress on project status and ongoing process improvement opportunities* Assists in preparing annual budgets and operates in adherence with budget parameters.Job Accountabilities* Identifies and analyzes the design of jobs, work processes, workflows, etc. for the area and implements appropriate changes to improve effectiveness, productivity, and efficiency that support the overall goals of the department and Parkland.* Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure.
