Description:

The Project Manager establishes project objectives and schedules, directs everyday operations of projects, monitors project performance, identifies deviations, and takes appropriate corrective actions.


Essential Functions:

1. Supports the sales team in developing proposals, account strategies, and client presentations.

2. Defines project objectives, including scope, schedule, and budget, through collaboration with the Applications department, account manager, and customer.

3. Participates in project estimating sessions as required, contributing to accurate and competitive project bids.

4. Provides clients with regular updates on project status, fostering transparency, trust, and strong working relationships.

5. Maintains comprehensive records of project activities within the project management system, in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

6. Monitors project costs against estimates; communicates potential cost variances to the customer, TDS management, and sales team, and assists in developing corrective actions as needed.

7. Identifies, tracks, and maintains a log of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) through ongoing project monitoring and client engagement.

8. Provides leadership and direction to assigned personnel across all project phases, including concept development, design, and detailing; develops and approves solutions to technical challenges.

9. Organizes and participates in design reviews to ensure project requirements and quality standards are met.

10. Oversees project progress during fabrication, assembly, debugging, and installation; approves necessary modifications and material substitutions.

11. Schedules and participates in safety reviews of fabricated equipment prior to teardown.

12. Coordinates cross-functional project activities within TDS to ensure successful project execution and completion.

13. Collaborates with internal departments and customer representatives to define project requirements, establish direction, and build strong, positive client relationships while reinforcing confidence in TDS’s project delivery capabilities.

14. Ensures clear and proactive communication of project activities among TDS management, team members, and customer representatives to maintain alignment with project objectives and support positive customer engagement.

15. Tracks project performance against cost and schedule baselines; informs TDS management and team members of deviations requiring customer engagement or corrective action.

16. Provides guidance and support to complete all design, detailing, and engineering activities associated with assigned projects.

17. Cultivates strong, long-term customer relationships by proactively engaging clients, anticipating needs, resolving issues effectively, and ensuring a high level of satisfaction throughout all phases of the project.

18. Understands and complies with requirements of the QMS, AS9100, and/or ISO 9000.

19. Willingness to travel on an as required basis.

20. Additional duties as needed and assigned.

21. Additional work hours as required.


Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Management/Business Administration or equivalent work experience and technical capability.

2. Read and interpret part prints, tool drawings, and technical instructions and descriptions.

3. Apply mathematical concepts such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, equations and formulas, statistics, and standard engineering data.

4. Perform and/or review complex analysis as related to technical designs.

5. Ability to deal with factors not easily evaluated, interpret results, exercise exceptional judgment, and make responsible decisions.

6. Experience using Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, and other computer applications.
