As a Project Manager focused on Automation designs, you will have direct and daily contact with our customers, suppliers, and internal sales teams.ย  You will be tasked with overall project execution of automation packages to meet the requirements of Oil and Gas Upstream, Automotive/EV, Material Handling, Marine, Municipal W/WW, Data Centers, Semiconductor, and Hoist/Crane applications. This is a hybrid position that can be located in either Florida or Georgia.ย  Must live within reasonable commuting distance to either Atlanta GA, Savannah GA, Jacksonville FL, or Orlando FL.

How youโ€™ll make an impact:

  • Work with the AWC Projects/ Technical Account Manager teams across all markets to develop standardized automation package designs for focused vertical applications
  • Drive efficiency and cost competitiveness with selected component manufacturers
  • Work closely with CAE Designer to complete standard drawing packages and documentation
  • Partner with fabrication facilities to build AWC Automation designs
  • Manage FATs and quality assurance to ensure adherence to design
  • Stewards the implementation of custom Automation solutions, and develops accompanying schematics, drawings, and specifications as needed
  • For custom applications, reviews technical project requirements to ensure successful Automation implementation
  • Provide the guidance to develop project scopes, preparation of conceptual and detailed cost estimates
  • Lead team to develop schematics, detailed drawings and specifications needed for all new system designs, expansions, or system improvements
  • Evaluate risks associated with various options
  • Ensure all stakeholders of projects including operations, maintenance, finance, business development both agree with the scope and are aware of project status
  • Managing the contracts, project schedule, and communicating the schedule to the customers, obtaining status, managing scope, and managing issues and risks
  • Maintain the Company's competitive position and assuring alignment with business objectives
  • Work to ensure that integrators and suppliers deliver, in accordance with approved plans, specifications and industry standards
  • Establish testing and inspection procedures for quality control of all projects
  • Provide guidance to the Project Engineers to assure Q/C requirements are met on all projects
  • Develop implementation plans that include analyses such as cost-benefit or return on investment (ROI)
  • Identify, review, and select vendors or consultants to meet project needs
  • Initiate, review, and approve modifications to project plans
  • Monitor/track project milestones and deliverables
  • Negotiate with project stakeholders and suppliers to obtain resources or materials
  • Develop detailed project reports to convey project status to Management and stake holders
  • Assess current or future customer needs and priorities through communicating directly with customers, conducting surveys, or other methods
  • Monitor, document, and communicate performance of project team members

Skills youโ€™ll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline or equivalent work experience in a related field
  • Ability to proofread for accuracy and finalize documents professionally with a strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of: Project management practices & procedures; Smart Power Systems; Electric power distribution products, listed above, and their application in the industrial environment; Pricing strategies; Distribution channels; Technology trends & emerging technologies.
  • Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate accurately and effectively. Must be able to effectively interface with a variety of technical as well as project management teams
  • Detail oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Computer skills, ability to use Microsoft Office/Teams tools to analyze and solve routine problems
  • Understanding of electrical drawings and one-line diagrams
  • Understanding of UL, NEC, Atex, IEC & Nema Standards
