We are currently looking for a Project Manager to join our Convergent Solutions Group team located at our headquarters in Granite City, IL. Our ideal candidate for a Project Manager is someone with 5+ years of experience in HVAC Service or mechanical project management.
Primary responsibilities for icon's Project Manager include:
  • Developing and managing client relationships with new and existing customers - understanding their business needs, recommending technical solutions, and ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Leading projects from award through closeout, including schedule development, a smooth handoff from preconstruction/estimating, and keeping the project team aligned and informed throughout.
  • Monitoring project financial performance, including cost projections, WIP reporting, and profitability analysis.
  • Procuring materials and equipment, issuing subcontracts, and overseeing subcontractor and vendor performance.
  • Managing RFIs, submittals, and change orders, and completing project billings/pay applications.
  • Working hand in hand with the Safety Department to identify, manage, and mitigate project risk, and monitoring jobsite compliance with building and safety regulations.
  • Ensuring contractual conditions of performance are met, and overseeing project closeout, including punch list completion, warranty documentation, and O&M turnover

Primary qualifications for icon's Project Manager include:
  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Associate's degree in HVACR Technologies, or equivalent field experience.
  • Knowledge of HVAC and Piping Systems, building products, construction details/design and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards.
  • Familiarity or knowledge of digital controls systems is a plus.
  • Genuine desire to solve problems.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time and project management skills.
  • Possesses a strong personal commitment for long-term and meaningful goals.
  • Ability to work within an environment with deadlines while having to multi-task with changing priorities.
  • Demonstrate confidence in their knowledge and is committed to researching the answers and finding the right solution for things they do not know.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and an ability to present oneself in a professional manner.
