The Traveling Assistant Project Manager is expected to maintain a high level of professionalism, communication, organization, and adaptability while supporting projects in fast-paced and travel-intensive environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist project management team with development and maintenance of project-specific schedules, budgets, and client-driven goals.
  • Support project startup activities including mobilization coordination, temporary facilities setup, logistics planning, and document management.
  • Assist with coordination of subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
  • Maintain project documentation including submittals, RFIs, meeting minutes, change orders, and closeout documentation.
  • Track and communicate weekly project schedule updates to subcontractors and owners.
  • Assist with preparation and administration of subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Support invoice review and assist with monthly pay application preparation.
  • Assist in maintaining project cost controls and tracking budget performance.
  • Coordinate due diligence efforts and maintain project records and reporting requirements.
  • Participate in weekly project meetings and assist in documenting and distributing meeting notes.

  • Maintain continual communication with clients, design teams, Project Superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Support onsite coordination efforts and maintain a consistent field presence at assigned project locations.
  • Support construction projects in commercial, industrial, manufacturing, aerospace, defense, and other technically complex environments.
  • Assist with implementation and coordination of construction technology and VDC efforts as directed.
  • Demonstrate initiative in identifying project issues, proposing solutions, and supporting timely decision-making.
  • Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment while supporting company values, client relationships, and project success.
  • Support and reinforce company safety culture and site-specific safety initiatives in coordination with field leadership.
  • Assist with project closeout activities including punch lists, turnover documentation, warranties, and final project records.
  • Attend client meetings, project interviews, and company meetings as required.
  • Assist in identifying project risks and communicating issues to project leadership.
  • Perform additional assignments at supervisor's direction.

Career Development & Growth Opportunity:

  • This position is designed as a developmental role with increasing levels of responsibility and exposure to all phases of project delivery. The Traveling Assistant Project Manager will gain hands-on experience in field operations, client relations, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and project execution in preparation for future Project Management leadership opportunities.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel requirements will vary based on project assignments and may involve extended onsite presence at remote project locations.
  • Extended stays at remote project locations may be required for durations ranging from several weeks to multiple months.
  • Position may require travel by vehicle and/or air transportation.
  • Weekend travel may occasionally be necessary based on project schedule demands.
  • Employees assigned to travel projects may be eligible for per diem, travel accommodations, and additional onsite assignment compensation in accordance with company travel policies.
