Job Description

Position: Project Manager

Location: Remote

Overview:

The Project Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of small to large scale PV Solar projects ranging in size between 1 MWac to 100+ MWac.

Responsibilities may consist of managing a single project or a portfolio of projects in various stages executed concurrently depending on size and complexity. The Project Manager will work with several internal teams within Silicon Ranch including business development, project development, engineering, finance, accounting, legal, and field-level site managers.

The Project Manager will be the commercial lead, enforce contract requirements, manage client relations, and project deliverable requirements. In addition, the project manager shall establish and monitor performance metrics, project schedules, risk profiles, and cost performance of the project in accordance with company systems and practices.

Silicon Ranch is looking for an ambitious candidate with initiative and resilience. Candidates must have strong organizational skills and a prompt communication style. Strong business acumen is required to be successful in this role. Understanding contracts and contract administration is required to be successful in this role.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Commercial lead on all commercial aspects of each project. Each project may require multiple contracts, such as solar EPC, substation EPC, equipment procurement (modules, GSU, etc.), interconnection, etc.
  • Participate in negotiation of project specific contracts, drawing support from other SRC departments and management, as needed
  • Manage and report project scope, schedule, budget installation rates, and project risks in conjunction with project controls team members.
  • Manage scope and perform change management
  • Monitor and manage costs
  • Perform internal and external stakeholder management
  • Perform all project communications and reporting
  • Engage In client and community relations
  • Interface with Environment, Health, Safety, and Security department and contractors related to company safety, environmental and regulatory compliance.
  • Work with various information technology platforms such as Procore, Box and Mercatus.
  • Evaluate current project management standards and practices and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage key project team members, in concert with their respective functional managers, with regard to project related activities and issues, for example, Project Engineer, Sourcing Manager, Site Manager, etc.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or related applicable discipline or applicable equivalent experience
  • 2 – 5 years of experience in project management and/or construction management
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
  • Solar project experience is a plus, interest in solar projects a must.

Technical:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project. Procore experience a plus.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills required.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision making ability
  • Strong customer service skills with focus on listening to the customer
  • Knowledge of the standardized project management processes and tools.
  • Knowledge of engineering design, procurement, and construction practices and procedures
  • Exposure or experience to the US renewable energy market and design build projects beneficial.
