Job description

The Technology Project Manager manages a portfolio of technology initiatives supporting Core IT, Accounting, Marketing, Human Resources, Infrastructure, Records Management, Security and other business functions. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality technology projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with established project management methodologies and governance processes.The Technology Project Manager leads cross-functional initiatives involving business applications, infrastructure, networking, cloud and hosting services, disaster recovery, cybersecurity, and other technology-related initiatives. The role partners closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, solution architects, vendors, and leadership to plan, execute, and successfully deliver projects while effectively managing scope, risks, resources, budgets, and communications. Strong project management, organizational, communication, leadership, and relationship management skills are essential.Duties and Responsibilities:Manage technology projects from initiation through planning, execution, implementation, and project closure, ensuring successful delivery within scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.Partner with Solutions delivery, IT team members, business stakeholders, vendors, and other departments to ensure successful project delivery and alignment with business objectives.Develop and maintain project documentation, including project charters, project plans, schedules, status reports, risk assessments, issue logs, communication plans, and project governance materials.Facilitate project governance activities, including preparing and presenting project gate reviews and status updates to IT Directors and project sponsors.Monitor project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies, and resource allocations, proactively identifying and resolving obstacles that could impact delivery.Prepare regular reports on project portfolio status, budgets, resource utilization, risks, issues, and mitigation strategies for leadership.Coordinate project resources across multiple concurrent initiatives, identifying and resolving conflicts related to priorities, schedules, and staffing.Facilitate communication among technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and leadership to ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.Contribute to the continuous improvement of IT PMO processes, methodologies, standards, templates, and best practices.Support change management and user adoption activities as appropriate for assigned projects.Perform other duties as assigned.Education and/or Experience:Required:Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.Minimum of four (4) years of project management experience, including at least two (2) years managing technology projects supporting IT infrastructure, business applications, or enterprise business functions.Demonstrated experience successfully managing multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities.Experience contributing to project management methodologies, governance, or process improvement initiatives.Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices.Experience using project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Asana, Planview, or similar platforms.Experience working with cross-functional teams consisting of technical and business stakeholders.Preferred:Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.Experience working in a legal or professional services environment.Experience managing projects involving ERP, accounting, finance, human resources, document management, or other enterprise business systems.Familiarity with infrastructure, cloud services, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, networking, or enterprise application implementations.Other Skills and Abilities:The following will also be required of the successful candidate:Strong organizational skillsStrong attention to detailGood judgmentStrong interpersonal communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAble to work harmoniously and effectively with othersAble to preserve confidentiality and exercise discretionAble to work under pressureAble to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities#LI-JW1#LI-HybridThe target salary range for this role is:$85,000 - $117,700 if located in IllinoisSalaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate.
