Titan America has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Foreman at its facility in Sterling, VA.  This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for overseeing special projects and coordination of maintenance activities on concrete plant equipment and/or facilities.

Annual Base Pay Range: 66K - 72K

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Promotes a Safety First mentality and actively participates in the safety program; Facilitates/leads monthly safety meetings
  • Provides project management direction to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Plans and executes the mobilization, set up, dismantling, and demobilization of portable concrete plants, as well the planning, coordination, and set up for new fixed concrete plant locations
  • Ensures repair and maintenance work is conducted with fiscal prudence, obtaining proper approvals when costs fall outside established guidelines
  • Makes improvements to processes to increase equipment reliability and reduce downtime
  • Accountable for the effective day to day supervision of all maintenance functions for special projects
  • Meets daily maintenance schedules, document system performance, identify and analyze problem area breakdown trends
  • Oversees the troubleshooting of technical problems and equipment malfunctions providing direction as required
  • Handles emergency maintenance coordination calls during on and off-duty hours
  • Supports and coordinates with the maintenance teams to manage work processes to establish and maintain standard operating procedures
  • Supplements and assists in all maintenance activities as required, serves as a working supervisor
  • Reviews overall maintenance results for compliance within safety and industry standards and specifications
  • Ensures regulatory and environmental compliance with all equipment, personnel, and facilities
  • Effectively communicates project status to enhance overall company operating efficiencies
  • Maintains clean, organized, and hazard free shop environment
  • Directs daily work order assignments based on priority
Qualifications

Qualifications and experience:

  • Project management experience required
  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience maintaining equipment in an industrial or commercial setting, preferred in a ready mix concrete environment
  • Multi-skilled professional mechanic with experience in repair and maintenance of machinery, both electronic and mechanical, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines, diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, hydraulics and pneumatics and other plant equipment related to our concrete plant facilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fundamental computer experience is required
  • Must have excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize responsibilities effectively
  • Proven ability to work under tight deadlines, assist in the resolution of technical problems, and manage ambiguous information effectively
  • Position requires local travel between the facilities
  • Ability to pass pre-employment processes including criminal background check, physical and drug screen
  • Must maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record in order to drive company vehicles

  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the public
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required
  • Working outdoors with exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold and other outdoor environmental conditions, constant standing and walking, climbing, working from heights and lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and overtime
