Responsibilities

With some supervision, performs a wide variety of relatively complex work, ensuring schedule, budget, and performance requirements are met. Oversees project budget and schedule, takes responsibility for proper completion, and consistently develops, schedules, plans projects to deliver required results on time and at or under budget. Can perform multiple assignments simultaneously and manages all aspects of moderately complex mediumโ€‘toโ€‘large projects. Takes initiative to analyze needs and possible options, diagnoses risks and develops innovative solutions, determines approaches and options to problemโ€‘solving, and applies risk mitigation throughout the project life cycle.

Under general direction, prepares a project schedule baseline plan accurately reflecting tasks, time estimates, and resources (including personnel, technology, and equipment) for each task. Understands client needs, defines project scope, allocates resources, identifies and addresses risks, and determines best solutions. Concludes the project once all requirements are met, conducts a postโ€‘project audit to verify timeliness and budget compliance, ensures prompt payments based on deliverables and milestones, and, when finished, closes out the contract, resolves open items, and ensures payment.

Performs the initiating, planning, execution, monitoring, and controlling phasesโ€”including review of project scope, development of schedules and resource plans, execution of the project plan, monitoring progress against the baseline, and coordination of changes. Manages vendor relationships, generates moderateโ€‘complex project reports, ensures timely dissemination and storage of project information, controls scope changes, processes change orders, and conducts quality assurance activities to meet relevant quality standards.

Works under general direction with established protocols, seeks assistance with complex or difficult problems, and exercises judgment and discretion freely. Provides training to others as needed, offers technical direction to the project team, holds team members and outside contractors to delivery commitments, and influences and negotiates across the organization without formal authority.

Qualifications
  • Associateโ€™s degree in Project Management or equivalent work experience, plus 6 to 10 years of professional experience in the electrical sign trade (or equivalent).
  • Project management and/or supervisory experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; solid organization, detail orientation, multiโ€‘tasking, conflict and crisis management skills.
  • Solid knowledge of building products, construction details, regulations, quality standards, contract administration, and records management.
  • Strong leadership, scheduling, analytical thinking, and orientation toward getting things done.
  • Strong math and budgeting skills.
  • Competent in MS Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Google Mail, and other communication applications; uses automated tools such as Gantt charts for scheduling.
  • Strong knowledge of specific Yesco products and procedures, gained on the job and through departmental exposure.
  • LED experience preferred; electrical experience preferred.
