Micron is hiring a Cateogory Supplier Manager (Buyer) in Manassas, VA! This role will be the primary category point of contact for supplier interactions, performance management, and negotiations for the site. In this role, you will work with partners to build comprehensive view of supplier performance for continued sourcing success.
You will participate and/or lead in the development and implementation of category strategies and projects related but not limited to cost reduction initiatives, supply base optimization, and pricing/contract negotiation.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead Site Supplier Performance and Relationships
  • Own procurement process for designated areas and accounts
  • Negotiate with suppliers to meet business needs
  • Support capital budgeting and cash flow management, and the execution of Global Procurement strategies
  • Handle cost saving initiatives and metric
  • Implement cost savings and process improvement programs
  • Have deep knowledge to serve as a consultant for procurement process and supplier issues.
  • Support site audits

Minimum Qualifications :
  • 3+ years experience in strategic sourcing, quantity surveying and estimating
  • Manage multiple large-scale projects (sourcing events) concurrently, ability to work with minimal supervision; strong project management skills
  • Proficient in MS office
  • Comfort around Senior Leaders and Executives, ability to create and deliver executive-level presentations
  • Candidate with prior experience in similar roles strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills
  • Proven strong problem-solving skills
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact expertly with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • PMP certification or equivalent, preferred
