Job description

Brewer Science, Inc. is a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor / microelectronics markets. We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as a Product Manager (level I or II). This position will be located in Rolla, MO.

 Summary:

The Product Manager serves as the strategic and operational owner of a product or portfolio of semiconductor products. They sit at the intersection of technology, business, and customer needs, ensuring that their products meet market demands, generate sustainable growth and profitability, and align with the company’s long-term strategies. Product Management plays a particularly complex and influential role due to the highly technical nature of the products, long qualification cycles, and deep integration into customers' processes.
The Product Manager is responsible for the entire product lifecycle, from identifying customer needs, building the roadmap, and defining product requirements to guiding R amp;D development, overseeing commercialization, and managing post-launch performance. They must balance internal priorities (R amp;D capabilities, manufacturing constraints, regulatory compliance) with external forces (customer requirements, competitor activity, and market shifts).


Responsibilities:

Product Manager I:

  • Conduct in-depth market research and analysis (in collaboration with the Market Intelligence Team) to identify market trends, competitive landscape, and growth opportunities within the semiconductor industry.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive product strategies aligned with business objectives, semiconductor market trends, and customer needs.
  • Develop product roadmaps aligned with the strategies and prioritize features and applications for development in coordination with R amp;D and BPD Project Management.
  • Own the creation and maintenance of business cases for development products
  • Work with BPD Project Managers to define scope, resource needs and gate deliverables for the development products
  • Develop launch plans including pricing, positioning (customers to promote to and why), and work with Marketing to prepare all collateral
  • Working with operations and regulatory, ensure smooth flow of product lifecycle management from BPD and part number creation and extension to new regions, to end of life
  • In the event of a customer excursions, work on crisis management activities with operations and other responsible parties, like quality
  • Train Sales and Application Engineering on product value and differentiation.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product performance (revenue, margin, market share), identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous optimization and innovation
  • Be responsible for phase-in/phase-out decisions and changes due to raw material obsolescence or cost shifts
  • Support key customer accounts, including attending technical meetings and monitoring qualification progress.

Product Manager II:

  • Same duties as Product Manager I. 

  • Additional duties as Product Manager II: 

    • Manage a complex chemical product portfolio, aligning with business goals and optimizing for growth, profitability, and lifecycle performance.
    • Influence business strategy and planning, providing product insights and market analysis to support corporate decision-making.
    • Build strong customer relationships, engaging regularly to understand needs, gather feedback, and guide product direction.
    • Act as the voice of the customer, translating insights into product requirements and prioritizing accordingly.
    • Support key initiatives such as cost reduction, pricing strategy, and margin improvement to drive profitability.
    • Drive continuous improvement, enhancing product quality, delivery, and internal processes across the product lifecycle.
    • Track market and competitive trends, informing product positioning and identifying new opportunities for growth.

  • Product Manager I:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, business, or related field and 8+ years related experience or
    • Master’s degree in engineering, chemistry, business, or related field and 6+ years related experience or
    • Doctoral degree in engineering, chemistry, business, or related field and 4+ years related experience or
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Product Manager II:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, business, or related field and 10+ years related experience or
    • Master’s degree in engineering, chemistry, business, or related field and 8+ years related experience or
    • Doctoral degree in engineering, chemistry, business, or related field and 6+ years related experience or
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
