As a Commercial Glazing Project Manager on the Portland Glass team, a typical day for you will include:

Lead Projects from Start to Finish

  • Manage commercial glazing projects throughout the entire project lifecycle, from project handoff and planning through closeout.
  • Establish project schedules, milestones, manpower plans, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
  • Monitor project progress, proactively identify risks, and implement solutions to keep projects on track.

Drive Financial Performance

  • Develop and maintain accurate project budgets, forecasts, job cost tracking, and schedule of values.
  • Manage project profitability by controlling costs, negotiating favorable pricing, and minimizing project risks.
  • Review contracts, change orders, and project scope to ensure financial success.

Coordinate Technical Deliverables

  • Oversee the development and procurement of shop drawings, engineering documents, submittals, and project documentation.
  • Utilize AutoCAD to support project coordination and building envelope system requirements.
  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure compliance and constructability.

Build Strong Relationships

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, architects, general contractors, engineers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop trusted relationships that drive repeat business and future project opportunities.
  • Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication throughout all phases of construction.

Manage Procurement & Material Planning

  • Coordinate purchasing activities and vendor relationships.
  • Negotiate pricing and delivery schedules while maintaining quality standards.
  • Track material procurement and ensure timely delivery to support project schedules.

  • 3+ years of Project Management experience within the commercial glass, glazing, curtain wall, storefront, or building envelope industry.
  • Proven experience managing commercial construction projects from award through closeout.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Advanced AutoCAD proficiency.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.

What Knowledge and Skills are Preferred?

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience managing large-scale commercial glazing projects.
  • Knowledge of ERP, project management, or estimating software.

  • Compensation Flexibility: Approximately $70K–$120K
  • Location Flexibility: The PM can work from either Lee, New Hampshire, or Bowdoinham, Maine
  • Schedule / in-office requirements: Monday to Friday in office for standard core working hours
