Job description

Metglas, Inc., located in Conway, SC, is a world-leading producer of Amorphous Metal Ribbon. Since our company began in the 1970s, Metglas, Inc. (then Allied Signal located in Morristown, NJ) pioneered the development and production of amorphous metal, a unique alloy that exhibits a structure in which the metal atoms occur in a random pattern. The key to Metglas Inc.'s proprietary manufacturing process is the rapid-solidification of molten alloy at a rate of approximately one million degrees Celsius per second.

We are currently seeking a Sales Manager – Power & Advanced Products to join our growing team.

This role is a North America-focused sales and business development position for Metglas products, combining account management, strategic planning, technical marketing, forecasting, pricing, and new product commercialization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop growth strategies for existing and new Metglas products and markets.
  • Manage customer relationships, account pricing, sales forecasting, CRM data, and production planning.
  • Lead market research, competitive analysis, product launches, and promotional activities.
  • Coordinate with global sales, manufacturing, R&D, Quality, and Operations teams in the U.S. and Japan.
  • Identify profitable opportunities in utilities, transformers, government programs, and emerging markets.
  • Maintain competitive intelligence in CRM and provide strategic plans to management.
  • Represent customer priorities internally and support technical inquiries, design-in projects, and product development.
  • Travel domestically and internationally approximately 33-50%.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering; MBA preferred.
  • At least 5 years of relevant industry experience in industrial or technical marketing, product development, commercialization, or strategic business development.
  • Strong knowledge of power and utility markets, forecasting, pricing, financial analysis, and account strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to commercialize technical products and lead cross-functional projects.
  • Strong analytical, project management, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and data analysis.
  • Experience with government agencies or National Laboratories, government supply programs, transformer markets, international marketing, or emerging technologies is preferred.
